Can I please ask what is provably a stupid question!

Received my Eir sim this morning, going to try for the A21 offer. Do i need to activate and create an account for my Eir sim card before I can try port over to Vodafone offer?

    Thanks in advance for advice!

Just put the eir sim into a phone. During the vodafone checkout process they will text the eir number with a code which you enter. Once checkout complete you should not need that sim again. Unless Vodafone cancel the order which is more than likely.

Picked one up in Carphone Warehouse earlier. Zero hassle. No money missing from my account. Simples. Are ye all trying to save the €20 topup or something?

That's basically what people are trying to do by avoiding going into the store.

    For the a21

What network did you switch from? Some people don't have a carphone warehouse near them.

Plus the whole covid pandemic thing.

Did they make a call to ur old number ? Or try to make a call from it ?

If ordering online you'll get a verification code by text. If in store the usually call the number you say you're porting from to check it's active

Called into a carphone warehouse. I'm on 48 with active membership, got the verification text through phone and was told to come back in 10 mins. Came back and was told it was rejected.

No ppl are trying to avoid the €20 topup. I'm just trying to avoid losing €40 to the cloud each time I tried to use Vodafone.ie :P

Man I've been rejected / cancelled so many times with ordering online with Vodafone that I was just relieved to have it in my hand within minutes of walking into the store! It's a great phone for 40 yoyos btw. It's not FHD screen but it's above and beyond what one would expect for a 40 yoyo outlay. :)

Worked for me on two brand new eir SIMs

    Activated and ported within minutes.

One A21s is gone back under the 14 day cooling off period as it was €90 when purchased. Awaiting refund on that one but €40 one arrived today.

Both orders were 5 working days to delivery.
