Nice football leading to the goal. Such an open game.

    Calvert-Lewin again, lovely goal. 1-2

Fulham are in for a bad time in this league if they are going to make Iwobi look like Messi

I'm amazed at the form he is in.

    Is it down to Carlo?

Signing of James helped a lot I think

Ancelotti deserves a lot of the credit, telling him where he wants him to operate - in between the posts. It can't be a coincidence that he's in the right place a lot more often now, just like today's brace.

That stand looks like it will fall straight into the Thames.

Everton players are bumping into each other and Fulham still can't get get near them.

The argument is about a wafer-thin decision, so it's surely a sign that VAR is generally working great?

Without it we'd be debating big-ticket wrong decisions about how United got robbed by Johnstone being way off his line for the penalty, and Gabriel Jesus got away with a clear handball for the equaliser in City's 4-1 win at Spurs.

There's seems no general agreement in the football world on the WBA penalty, and people suggest the fault is VAR. I don't get it.
Major clusterfcuk blatantly wrong decisions (Maradona hand, Thierry Henry, Toni Schumacher) are never going to happen again, why would people want to go backwards to that.

I think that 10 minute spell just signified everything that is wrong with the system, and not particularly because of the legitimacy of the decisions. Long drawn out VAR breaks, completely disrupting the flow. And penalties that are not really disrupting goal scoring opportunities basically deciding the game. Far too many penalties due to VAR and they carry faaaaar too much baring on results for how innocuous the foul often is. All leads to a unsatisfactory end product.

Back to the form of the 80's again today for the Toffees! Tis our year.

    Doucoure 1-3.

I didn't quite catch all the football focus interview. I'm sure Linekar was interviewing Ancelotti.
Calvert-Lewin was mentioned and I now remember something along the lines of what you say - and not a comparison but being told to research Inzaghi and his sheer abundance of one touch goals.
I'm enjoying watching this Everton team attack so long may it continue.

Dunno how that missed everyone crossing the box

Fulham genuinely look like they could be one of the worst ever teams promoted to the Premier League, making a largely over rated Everton side look like world beaters.

Also, things are looking unbelievably bleak at the bottom of the table, could be a record low for points needed for survival. None of Fulham, West Brom, Burnley or Sheffield look like they'll go anywhere near accumulating 40 points or even anything near it.

Could easily be 6 or 7 for Everton already here.

The Fulham defence are like rabbits in headlights. Truly awful. Crisp Everton passing and they are lost altogether.

Such an attacking line up by Everton - so good to see

2nd half starts the way the first ended.

    Very open

I hate seeing that happen to a penalty taker :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

    Fulham hate penalties.

    Missed it

Fulham get a second through Loftus Cheek, 2-3. Interesting.

That's pretty much it for me too.

Sure, Leeds fans were a bit annoyed about Bamford's goal being ruled out. But marginal decisions have always existed, good goals ruled out etc. This makes the margins smaller, and if it sees the most egregious decisions like the Henry handball addressed, then I'm all for it.

Ramsdale like last season is still 20th on the list of first choice PL goalies.

From rear you see it clearly that ball is dropping, and obviously hits the ground. That's the only change of motion with ball, Fern never kicked it, even a slight kick would have kicked it out of box, considering the huge impact on the shin of west brom player, if that same force had even touched ball it would have traveled far.

And from rear you see he kicked above ball,

right click, play at 1/2 speed and loop

4 clean sheets in the 6 games so far. Unusual for this season

On the one hand that's an incredibly soft red, but on the other, he deserves it for sheer stupidity alone.
