Do we think that maybe Liverpool's over use of a small squad over the last 2 years put together with their high tempo game might be a reason for all the injuries this year.

They had a bigger break over the summer than Man City, Man Utd and Wolves....

or is it just bad luck....

VVD was a freakish impact injury. Gomez by some accounts in the papers caught his studs in the turf kicking a ball. Thiago out since the knee high Richarlison tackle.

None of them look like fatigue injuries. Maybe the TAA one was but very hard to say definitively.

Massive fan of Matip - easily one of the best CB's in the league. Problem is, he's always injured so just becomes dismissed as a sick-note. Similar to Ledley King. Even with Liverpool fans on here before the Man City game, the news of Matip's return was treated as a "that's nice", rather than the "thank god" it should've been greeted with. Not to have a dig at anyone, but I think Matip is roundly under-rated.

    Under rated in ability, definitely.

Under rated in out put and results, no unfortunately.

I thought he was the real deal, but to be honest there is very little time I can reference to and say "see he is a top defender" without him getting injured.

I think he is the man when he does it. Its just "when does he do it"

There's a apparent ****storm coming for some Premier League player if the news outlets are to be believed.

I hope it's not a Utd or Liverpool player or the mods will have to lock this thread, which is a shame as things have been going well recently.

just hope people dont start throwing names about with baseless accusations,

seen one name mentioned on twitter already, with no actual proof or reasoning as to why it could be that player other than "oh that journalist usually reports on that club a lot"

Forgotten this was the Premier League thread tbh given the focus on Liverpool.

Miliovojevic has tested positive for covid in actual PL news.

The internet rumours are that it is. But internet rumours remain merely that until something legit comes out.

The accused is apparently from one of those clubs. Be good to see this thread locked after the drivel over the past few days lol.

Lets make sure no one is posting any names they hear on social media or wherever. If/when the story breaks on legitimate media, we can discuss it. Until we know more, i'd suggest we hold off accusing any clubs players of anything inappropriate, or guessing who the accused may be.

And any **** posting or trolling around this issue will be harshly dealt with.

I might be on my own here, but I don't understand the decision to have international games, let alone friendlies right now.

    It's crazy.

    No need for friendlies especially.

Where are people getting the idea that the alleged victim was fined?

    The article states...
"The footballer and a woman who was present at the property when police arrested him were also fined by officers for breaking Covid-19 regulations.

It might be necessary to follow every single rule to the letter in a case like this, to avoid it affecting the outcome in any way at all.

There is no suggestion the alleged victim was fined.

It was another woman who was fined.

International games are such a bad idea at the moment. I’m surprised players haven’t pushed back on it.

I'm almost certain it was worded differently when I read it.
