Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    What's the issue?
    You claimed that CNN wasn't going as after as refering to Biden as "predisdent-elect".
    I showed that this wasn't the case with a two second fact checking.
    In what way is this "losing the plot"?
    Again the vast majority of news outlets refer to him as "president-elect".
    This is probably due to the fact that he has won the election.

    The Republican Secretary of State for Georgia has just told CNN that he expects the vote recount will show no material difference from the original result. No incidence of voter irregularities have been found. This issue is not party specific. The peaceful hand-over of power in the US lies at the heart of its democracy.
    It's time for the Trump hold-outs to move on.

    Im bewildered what is wrong with contesting the outcome
    if he and others feel fraud was committed do they not have a right to challenge it
    There are 1000s of election fraud cases

    heres one a few months ago

    United States Attorney William McSwain announced on Thursday that Domenick DeMuro, a former Judge of Elections in Philadelphia, has been charged with multiple counts of election-related fraud:

    “(1) conspiracy to deprive Philadelphia voters of their civil rights by fraudulently stuffing the ballot boxes for specific Democratic candidates in the 2014, 2015, and 2016 primary elections, and (2) a violation of the Travel Act, which forbids the use of any facility in interstate commerce (here, a cell phone) with the intent to promote certain illegal activity (here, bribery),” per a DOJ release.

    And remember that this would also have to involve pretty much every media outlet in America(including Fox News) and dozens more around the world.
    And also pretty much every world leader aside from Putin and Kim.

    On the other hand, it could be that Trump and his guys are just lying and making up the idea of fraud on this scale.
    Which is something we all agree is far more likely.

    There is a different between possible (50/50) and probable (66/33).

    CNN, as do all the news outlets including trump loving Fox News, base their projections on the gap between the candidates and the votes remaining to be counted.

    On the point of Pennsylvania, Biden is currently ahead by 51,447 votes and its estimated that 99% of all votes are counted.

    6,710,899 votes counted so far means approximately 67,787 remaining

    51447/67787= Trump would need to win 75.9% of all remaining ballots to put him just 1 vote ahead of Biden. Which this is possible, but it certainly not probable when most of the remain votes are from big Dem voting areas and Biden was getting 26-35% in most republican voting areas/counties.

    Of course, even if I was wrong an Trump did get 75.9% of remaining ballots, that still only puts his 1 vote ahead. (probably that 1 fraudulent voter that actually got caught trying to vote for trump on her dead mothers ballot)

    In short, projections are not a guessing game, they are based on math, probabilities and voting trends.
