Here are the new castmembers and their official character names. The descriptions of the characters, however, are from the books and games, so those might change in the show.

• Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton, Silent Witness) in the role of Nenneke. In the books, she's a priestess of Melitele, and the head of the Temple of Melitele.
  
• Cassie Clare (Brave New World, The Bisexual) in the role of Phillippa Eilhart. She's an advisor to Redania’s King Vizimir II and leader of the Lodge of Sorceresses. This casting was previously reported as joining the show on several fan sites, but this is the first time her casting has been confirmed by Netflix.
  
• Liz Carr (Silent Witness, Devs) in the role of Fenn. Fenn was a partner in a law firm and detective agency in Dorian.
  
• Simon Callow (A Room with A View, Four Weddings and a Funeral) in the role of Codringher. Fenn's partner.
  
• Graham McTavish (Outlander, The Hobbit) in the role of Dijkstra. He was a master spy and head of special forces for the kingdom of Redania.
  
• Kevin Doyle (Downton Abbey, Happy Valley) in the role of Ba’lian. Another casting that was previously reported on fan sites and being confirmed for the first time. This is apparently a new character.
  
  
• Chris Fulton (Bridgerton, Outlaw King) in the role of Rience. A a mage who was instructed to find Ciri after she disappeared during the slaughter of Cintra.

The season two storyline: "Convinced Yennefer’s (Anya Chalotra) life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) brings Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside."

Other actors previously announced new cast for season two include Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Born as Vereena, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Basil Eidenbenz as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Mecia Simson as Francesca, and Kim Bodnia as Vesemir.

She’ll play Scían, who is the last member of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves. Per the official character description, “No one can come close to her artistry with the blade, and no one carries as much loss within their heart. When a chance presents itself to retrieve a stolen sacred sword, taken from her fallen tribe by nefarious means, she launches herself into a deadly quest that will change the outcome of the Continent.”

Season 2 drops December 17th

The mythos, action and adventure were good too. Good to get more background on the universe and what happened in the past for The Witcher series. I wouldn't mind seeing the tv series include more about

Definitely felt like the animation was able to do stuff that the live action show budget probably holds back. Definitely felt like they didn't see

The Witcher Renewed for Season 3

Well that gets the blood flowing.. and severed limbs flying! 🙂

Yeah like it's wierd they even think anyone who's seen the first season needs reminding about the action 😁

Like.. maybe there's going to be story trailers but they don't want people to think they've forgotten about the fights and magic and stuff too 😁

Can't remember season one very well. Think the big close up fight with a monster I remember was in a cave. Maybe the forest adds some complexity to the special effects.

2.1: Oh that was a decent opener! Starting off with a kind-of where-is-everyone but focusing in on a Witcher story.

Does look like they've got more budget.

Action reminding me of the Anime Film. Although, the Anime is set in the past so it's not needed and the shortest wording (1 sentence maybe) covered the events of it. This spoiler I mention events from the anime (though they might help understand this episode):

As for remembering.. I did find myself a bit hazy.

I watched this 1 min recap (youtube - H6Aq-BtrFxg) and this 2 minute emotion setter (youtube - mPRwlh0FJfs).

Still though, those recaps and this episode just got me remembering there was a lot more to the show.

So, I'll probably watch the 15 minute recap from netflix before moving on:

Yeah just saw the first episode available online this morning. I can wait until tomorrow.

Oh yes! That was 15 minutes WELL SPENT! Definitely refreshed my memory of the first season.

Earlier I mentioned one aspect of season 2 felt off but I was reminded it was in season 1 too.

I saw there's a four minute official video on the Anime but it talks very businessey.. and is kinda an interview with one of the show Producers. She does give an idea of Geralts mind at this point though.

So a strong recommend of the 15 minute season one recap.

The fan recap of the anime might help understand some history Geralt might bring up/relate to.

The official video about the anime.. is a bit businessey but does add a little.

2.4: Oh not bitter.. nope not bitter at all.. not when it's added to the credits at the end too!

Have to say.. at the mid-point now.. season 2 has been really strong.

Really building up as the episodes have gone along.

Sometimes a show might be trying to save money/budget in the middle but it doesn't feel like it here.
