Am I broken or does the mortgage chapter not make sense to anybody else? All I can understand are the rights of mortgagers/mortgagees.

I avoided that chapter like the plague when doing Property and had a choice in the exam in the end with only 4 topics so don't panic!

Not at all...makes no sense to me so I have decided to ignore it completely.

I ignored it completely and passed, so if it's not clicking with you and you have enough other subjects then just leave it out! Should be grand :)

It confused me too so I didn't prioritise it. Think there are other topics that are much more predictable and easy to cover tbh

Does any kind soul have even pictures of the August 2020 Tort paper? I would be so grateful!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭Spreece

It came up in the physical sitting in august so yea could prob leave it out

Why leave it out? It’s tiny and would be such a handy part of a question.

I've covered all of the above except Receivership and Corporate Authority- does anyone know if these are essentials or would I be typically ok to leave these out?

Receivership is handy enough and has about a 1 in 3 hit rate. So you should cover it. It’s always examined the very same way so easy to prepare for.

Because it came up in august as a full essay question so unlikely to come up as a full essay again which was what OP was asking. I passed tort with over 70% and didn’t refer to limitations in any of my answers but by all means study it if you want !

Sorry if this sounds really stupid but seen somebody earlier mention Candidate Id Number...where do we get this?

Does anyone know for this sitting can we tab legislation? I know we were allowed in march but I was convinced that it said that we were allowed on the permitted legislation PDF from the LS website for march and I don't see anything about it on the PDF now?

I think usually the law society sends out the ID numbers a week in advance, but they're only for the physical sittings. We shouldn't need them this time because it's online.

Afaik it's always been official copies only and no writing, but tabs, highlighting and underlining are ok.

I found them extremely generous! I scored a 60, and I know well my answers were not deserving of that score, they didn't breakdown scores for each question my front page just had 60 written next to every question number I attempted and a total of 60 also written at the bottom, and 60 was written at the end of each of my answers in the booklet- it was all very odd!

sorry I’m advance if this is easily answered but does anyone know who is doing company law if the whole risk score is taking into consideration our legislation? You may form a whole answer on it and Especially for DD you’ll be using it so much you’ll constantly have your head in it?

just wondering if anyone knows what came up in equity last sitting?

Don't worry everyone sitting company will be the exact same, it's one of those subjects where practically everyone will be looking at their legislation throughout so I'd imagine everyone will have similar scores for it, and also the LS have said you're allowed to look away from your screen to view permitted legislation so I wouldn't worry

    Realisation of Corp Assets

I imagine the fact that legislation is allowed will obviously be taken into consideration re us flicking through it & scanning it a lot, but as someone said earlier no harm in holding it up to the camera every so often to show that everything's above board!

This might sound a bit silly, but are we expected to put down our Law Soc ID on the exam itself to identify ourselves? Or do they already know who we individually are from our log in details?
