Yes the lockdown argument is gone. The oldies know they are not walking corpses. The young people know they are fine. It is farcical but absolutely criminal that we are wasting 1.5billion on this stupid lockdown.

777 new cases today is a big reduction on previous days and is too soon to be a result of the Level 5 lockdown.
It would appear that Level 3 was sufficient after all and unfortunately the government didn't have the courage to double down on their original stand against NPHET.
Tony and his cohort have wreaked incredible and completely unnecessary economic damage on the country this time around.

Excuse me if I do you a disservice, but I find a certain element of cynicism in that. Dr Holohan, and NPHET, do indeed know best. We might not like some of the medicine they are proscribing, but we do know it is the best course. A little less cynicism and gratuitous sniping, would help sustain a more positive engagement and following of the advice by the wider population.
This would be to the good of all.

Don’t believe we’ve had any deaths in that demographic.

My post is the truth. We are all only visitors on this planet. Make the most of the time you have.

Don’t expect others to sacrifice things for your own well being.

Your post is an opinion, and some kind of hallmark directive about carpe diem etc. That is all.

You're reacting like there is a definite trend. I'd love this to be a sign of a significant reduction but it's just too early to say yet and hasn't been a feature of the figures long enough. So claiming this a level three impact that doesn't require a level five could be premature outrage.

Cases really are irrelevant in this country. We know that we have a full capacity in hospitals without Covid. Hence the trolley situation. The fact that 30 people in ICU in the country costs us 1.5billion in lockdown costs is the HSE's poster that they are absolutely ****e and could not manage a cold in a creche.

We've had zero deaths in 0-15 category and 1 death in the 16-25 category. A girl with a congenital heart defect who was put on a Covid ward without any symptoms who subsequently died. So his post is not just opinion. It is fact

Has Dr Ciara Kelly’s twitter account been deleted? Are people not allowed to voice their medical or personal opinion on what’s happening?!

    Same thing happened De Brun.

Criticise Tony and you get threatened and deleted.

Genuine question! How do you find the strength to do this to yourself? Are you a saint?

Covid will likely be here permanently. I imagine very few have any desire to continue “living “ like this. It’s not sustainable either.

The way I see the things, an elderly person May have limited life span as they already enjoyed many great years.

Now don’t be selfish and let us enjoy ours.

they are in no way being selfish.
not up to them to possibly die so you can enjoy a few luxuries.
Don’t believe we’ve had any deaths in that demographic.

My post is the truth. We are all only visitors on this planet. Make the most of the time you have.

your post was not the truth just like the rest of your posts would never constitute truth.
presumably you will agree then given your last line that it's not up to those effected to forgo the greater protection they have with restrictions and in some cases lose their lives potentially to give you a few luxuries?
I wonder if the hundreds of thousands of people summarily dumped out of work consider it to be just that simple?

if we didn't control the virus it's likely much more would be dumped out of work
and probably for way way longer.
at least with our approach, some will eventually return to work and other sectors will recover in time.
as i have said before, there is no such thing as damage free covid, it causes non-medical effects and countries approaches are about minimising the damage.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Turbidy is a typical FF shill, asking if he was offended when Varadkar disrespected him.

Tony's the Boss and can't be disrespected!!!

Watch FF nominate him for president next time.

Was out today, saw lots of the vulnerable cohort breaking the lockdown out walking shopping etc. We (the under 60's)are making a massive sacrifice in terms of our freedoms and economic health to help these subset. The least anyone could do who is over 60 is to isolate or cocoon. We should be looking at fines for these people if they break the lockdown. A mask is not an excuse to go shopping. It does not prevent transmission of Covid as we are learning slowly.

How are they breaking lockdown by being out shopping? People are allowed to go shopping.

We are in a level 5 lockdown thanks to his latest posturing meltdown- he isn’t a democratically elected figure but managed to strong arm our government into yet more of his already failed lockdown dogma.

Did Tubs ask him how he’d feel being forced to live on €350 or less per week? No? Didn’t think so.

Yes would rather be strapped to a chair with my eyelids forced open, on a caffeine drip for seven consecutive 24 hour periods watching tubs reruns, than listen to 5 seconds of odious Tony.

He’s a wrong ‘un, and I hope you’re right and he’s exposed in due course.

Of course hes not democrtiacly elected? I mean seriously wtf has that to do with anything? NPHET is an advisory body, remember the Govt ignoring their original level 5 advice and ignoring their advice re testing at airports? Remember that no?
