If you are going to insult them, maybe learn how it's spelled.

O good man, thanks. Well done and well spotted

50% of positive tests aren't returning for a second test

Proving my point with that comment.

The politicians came under pressure (across the Western world) to open up too quickly, and because now we don't know where the rise is coming from we are having to shut everything down.

The original phased plan was quite good and if it had been allowed to work we may only have had to go back one level .

Every vested interest and lobby group came in to fill the void and dominate the conversation. I must have seen that bewigged ejit Eoghan Corry on TV on a nightly basis for a period of several weeks.

Am I right in saying that there is 350+ backlogged cases included today?

    Yes, from Friday/Saturday

If they bring the army back in it would be. They were the ones running the majority of it in the first place.

HSE though has been advertising for hundreds of contact tracers recently. I know of a few Environmental health officers seconded into contact tracing but with brexit looming large they're to be redeployed to the ports come January so staffing will need to be improved.
I was really miffed, had an applicable background, but cant drive and that was a prerequestite early in the year. I understood why ...for infection control/transmission reasons.

Hopefully shops will open, online shopping would be an absolute kick in the teeth with the money leaving the country to the likes of Amazon and wish.

Probably too late at this stage or they'll have a stop start lockdown.

Also I can't believe people were laughing at the people 'panic' shopping at the likes of smyth's. It's called foresight

I'll be shopping on Amazon and supporting the innovative companies, better service and better price.

I saw some thread where people posted Irish businesses to support and someone put up Gym + Coffee. Rubbish imported in from China with a label stuck on.

They’ve basically abandoned tracing as the virus is spreading so quickly in the general population. Anyways again like all things covid, what’s the point without enforcement. I know of people who were confirmed positive cases and travelled 3 counties to visit girlfriends and boyfriends, attended parties and infected others. No remorse, no penalties, so what use is tracking and tracing when this type of stuff happens

Gemma bullying an old guy on the street into taking his mask off.

How can this not be a Garda matter?

    https://twitter.com/i/status/1318234233052237830

Life streaming an old man wearing a mask and demanding he takes his mask off. My god! Who does she think she is? She's a horrible piece of **** and I don't know how she's allowed to walk the streets and roam free when she belongs on a psychiatric ward. Shes a bully and a coward. I notice how she picked on an old man and not a young group of thugs as an example.

That's probably down to the very high assympthomatic positive tests. These people have no symptoms and probably don't think they need another test.

Do you not understand that the lockdown is the best solution both for the national health and the economy in the long term.

Source for this. The WHO already said lockdows only to be used in extreme circumstances as they destroy economies. You may argue that it is an extreme circumstance but saying it will also be the best solution in the long term cannot be proved yet.

This is specifically the covid thread. Feel free to make another thread for other deaths and list the amount of deaths in each category.

That's not what they said at all.

Close contacts are asked to test on day 1 and if Negative return for a second test on day 7.

50% don't return for a second test on day 7 after testing negative the first time.

I agree with you about the isolation. Greedy and selfish fcuktards that you know with the positive results and not isolating.

I don't understand how and why the government wants to control the spread of the virus, shutting businesses but turns a blind eye to this stuff and isolation breakers

He is the Chief Medical Officer and there is a pandemic. If you're not interested, don't watch.

You're dead right. Competition drives innovation and if these Irish companies want business, they have to compete. The amount of "homegrown" companies ripping us off is ridiculous and then they wonder why people shop on the likes of Amazon. Welcome to the future, move over or move alongside.

Yes, there should be a focus on this and forcing people to quarantine. Maybe fines if you don't instead of fines for parties.

He does it twice a week, just like Ronan Glynn was doing.

If you had watched any of the briefings you would know this, and you would know that Glynn warned about this back in September.

You don’t get a second test if you’re positive...you hibernate for 10 days
If you’re negative you should be offered a second test
