Did the Macbook in question have the T2 security chip referred to in the article? It was only introduced in 2018 for the Macbook Pro https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208862 so you would have to know for certain it was built less than a year before the repair.

Looked it up for you, 2017 MacBook Pro. Serial number is on the docket. Doesn’t have the T2 chip. Are you saying no one would use a 1.5 -2 year old MacBook Pro if they were rich?

I think people deliberately amplifying and misrepresenting him are much more to blame for any damage caused.

They absolutely are , but it taking several "interpreters" hitting the media circuit in the hours/days after he speaks to explain what those intents are is not very good.

But this is the problem. Trump used Exxon as an example of what he claims he could do.

Why name them? If nothing went on, then it puts them in a very awkward position and it suggests there was some shady business going on.

But how do we know Trump didn’t hang permits over their heads? He has a history of dealing out a quid pro quo, and then he says this. For all we know, Exxon could have told him to go f*ck himself.

It was a bizarre rambling and it raises questions that were entirely of his own doing. It was so, so stupid to even name a company in a hypothetical anecdote.

I think we knew the danger of the media. But nobody was quite ready for just how many people could be brainwashed into such raw and unabashed hatred of one man!

Trump was fully aware that he would need to make some very tough decisions when he got into office - he said this in interviews back in the 80's. And he fully acknowledged that these decisions would make him very unpopular with many people... but he knew it still needed to be done. "Major surgery" as he called it back then.

But I think even Trump will have been shocked by levels that the media have stooped to when trying to undermine his job. Of course, they've failed in this and their ultimate goal of getting him out of office. But I do still think some "major surgery" needs to be carried out on the media in terms of reforms to how they conduct themselves, and how accountable they are for the hatred they have fostered throughout the country.

Do you think this will ease off during his second term? I always felt the mainstream media BS spouted over the past four years was to try stop him getting a second term. There will be no such incentive over the next four years though so hopefully they will back off and let him get on with it...
