I'm from a rural town from the Wesht of Ireland and its Hurling, Parish, Country. Boys and girls equally love the GAA.

I have many reasons to hate the GAA, one being they tried to shut down the scout troop I was in because they didn't want potential athletes spending their time learning how to make knots.

My point is though, in my parish GAA is loved universally by boys and girls.

Totally agree. I was Dublin born and bred for 30 years but anytime I ventured out of the Pale I found that people in their local clubs were really genuine and accepting and a great mix. Maybe not the top brass but the heart of it is at grass roots level.

So is it ok to play soccer and rugby and not GAA?

I understand the hate towards the GAA this time, the LOI is pretty much finished, may aswell see it out now. The Rugby on the other hand is twinned with alot of UK and french teams etc which is being carried on with or without us, i dont think the IRFU is gonna pull out. Intercounty on the other hand is only starting, they could easily call the thing off for the year.

She is missing the crux of the matter here. It's not a necessity to get your hair done.

A certain cohort of our medical consultants have the business of healthcare stitched up between them, that's a big part of what's wrong in this country.

Your dead right. A friend of mine whose son is a much needed neurologist tried working in Dublin .He gave up in exasperation. Said it was more or less a closed shop. Said half of the consultants were greedy deckers and the other half crackers. Bit of an exaggeration but I knew where he was coming from. The son is now working happily away in a large English Hospital without the virtual handcuffs, so to speak.
