    Why aren't there more strong Dublin accents in the media?
    It seems to me that Joe Duffy is the only well-known broadcaster in Ireland with what could be considered a strong Dublin accent. Why do a lot of Dublin broadcasters have neutral or posh accents?

    Was scary how quickly Duffy shut down the conversation at the mere mention of the words "Mary Boyle" yesterday. It's akin to saying "Skull And Bones" in RTE.

    Quickest ever shutdown of a topic I can recall was when someone mentioned Gráinne Carruth one day and Mr. Duffy, fearing some criticism of Bartholmoew Ahern of the Drumcondra Parish was imminent so to speak, went full-on rottweiler and shut it down instantly and off to a break, and the caller was never mentioned again.
