obviously gyms aren't essential but either is half of the stuff sold in supermarkets. That's what was one of the worst things about the lockdown for myself and co-workers. we were up to our eyes busy nearly all day, people were coming in multiple times a week and sometimes even twice a day. coming in to get lunch from the deli, then later again to go the lotto, a daily millions and 7 scratch cards. was an absolute joke.

Do you think they were using supermarkets as social outlets or to help with the monotony or loneliness of it. I once heard an eminent Psychiatrist say ( pre covid) lonely people should visit shopping centres.

These are probably the same people that need a pint, want the pub. Want to watch football. Lockdown is a load of sh*te. etc..
And they wonder why lockdown might be forced to be enforced.
Yesterday in Dublin town. Could just as easily be anywhere in the country tbf.

As much as people love a bit of outrage, I doubt very much a team of Scousers pausing for a group photo is going to stop the virus at this point. They were probably on the same boat or plane, sharing Hotel rooms. or whatever. If they are Irish soccer fans, the same thing kind of applies. It is photo taken outside a boozer yesterday afternoon, nothing illegal happened.

Far too many folk interested in pointing fingers every where else. A friend was in Liffey Valley yesterday, he said the place was heaving with people. At this point anyone sneering or twitching at people having a few scoops outside a boozer is doing it cause they like throwing mud. 11 soccer fans drinking across the road from the Gaiety theatre does not a global pandemic make. Get over it, you can't blame Cheltenham anymore either, that was 7 months ago. Killarney is 2 months ago now also. Dame lane is through. Every Sunday pictures and vids getting posted of people having a drink somewhere with the usual outrage and tut tutting. All posted by non-drinkers looking to point fingers and have a blame in.

They all add up. That’s why it all needs to be completely stopped now.

It's the Irish Everton fan club...... If you're going to break guidelines like that, would you not throw in 100 quid each and get a projector and a sports subscription......

They did not break guidelines, you are allowed 15 people outside a pub.

I doubt there are more than 15 Toffee supporters in Ireland anyway:pac::pac:

There's at least 20 there...... And they meet every week, that's gonna be interesting in February.

At least the Covid moral police got their picture . A few lads outside a pub big deal. The usual curtain twitchers who haven't left their house sinch March will explode in anger.

Pubs have already missed out on the summer market, missing out on the Halloween/mid term market and the Christmas/NYE market

Very very unfair even with the government aid. They could easily open up pubs again the end of November/December with much improved restrictions/enforcement. No booking/no entry etc. Limit the numbers and all that

But no way will this happen as the government/nphet will predict everyone will be dancing/falling all over each other and won't permit them to open. This will be a big strain on people's mental health for what is always a great time of year for some people

Accused of having a drinking problem for going to the pub too much, and then accused of wanting the pubs locked up within a handful of posts of each other. You couldn't make it up.:pac:

You'd just like that because you'd be able to say I'm part of this imaginary "anti-pub" brigade.

    They don't exist.

I do think you are focused on an unhealthy derision of people who do miss the pub. It is strikingly obvious from your posts.

You've been accusing people on this thread of being paedophiles if they disagree on Covid. It's literally out of the Gemma O'Doherty playbook.

Why would I care what you think?

Sure I'm one of the people who miss the pub. The pub is class! I hope we're in a position to have a healthy and appropriate opening of pubs and everything else.

But only when we're in a appropriate place to do so. When we can coincide this with battling Covid effectively

Our government would much rather have every responsible business shutdown then to have the 10% of people who actually spread the thing fined or anything at all by the gards. While there are no legal penalities the government can say whatever about level 4.2747474 or whatever exact level they wish to be on for with no clear instructions as to what that actually entails, but very few overall will take head of any of it, especially in regards to the run-up to Christmas

Yeah, you've made the "under the bed" joke a few times now. That's not what's happening though, is it?

We rearranged the living room in our house because we both work and live in the room. We made it more practical as a work space and more cosy as a living space and we're ready to spend much more time in the house over the winter. I'll follow the guidance as best I can. If that means me and the Mrs not seeing our friends and family, then that's what we'll do. It's a simple matter for me because I care about the community.

For the Gazillionth time. It is not about stopping the virus. I honestly don't get what you find so difficult about that. It is about acting responsible and adhering to guidelines and slowing the virus down.
There are more than 15 in that photo, and that is just the ones posing in that group.
Of course people are pointing fingers. That is what we have been asked to do, and I will keep doing, so that morons don't make things worse, increase the amount of patients and create an even bigger problem.
The people in Liffey Valley that your mate and you are pointing the finger at, may have been also creating problems, and feel free to report them.
Nobody is sneering or twitching at people in pubs or shopping centres (unless that is what you're doing), but they are aware when they are possibly causing greater problems.
No idea what your point is in bringing up cheltenham, killarney etc. Just nonsense i guess.
You can guess who is posting what, and their reasons all you want.
The simple truth is, the same as I had said in that post, that when heavier restrictions are brought in, people like those in the picture (and in liffey valley and anywhere else you and your mates saw people flouting the rules) will be complaining, when it is very likely that they are probably some of the main contributers.

11 fans.. Learn to count. 'Does not a global pandemic make'
But do contribute to the problem.

Ever notice that those calling for the pubs to immediately open are those who will call anyone "curtain twitchers" for pointing out people are taking the mick or claiming the only alternative to adhering to guidelines is to "live under the bed".

They're not open to a discussion. Their selfishness and blind ignorance doesn't let them

While calling people that, also themselves pointing out people going shopping/possibly flouting rules. But I guess it's just a coincidence that the people they choose to twitch curtains at, aren't in a pub.

Pubs and restaurants have been closed in Dublin for 4 weeks now. They are not the problem.

It is obvious that infections are increasing due to the schools. ( and curtain twitchers who reckon shopping is not an issue )

This is so true, you would think we had no mental health problems before Covid arrived!
