Statistics show you'd have to be a very unlucky 30 year old fat bastard

I'm sure Goldrickssans statistics also show that fairies are real.

Back in reality obesity is actually one of the biggest issues with covid. But sure you know bestest :pac:

    Can someone confirm this?

    With a codicil
Pfizer could know whether the vaccine was effective by the end of October but cautioned that this data “may come earlier or later based on changes in the infection rates” among trial participants.

Well, they're all working off the same info. He has been writing some excellent articles on the RTE website. So don't write him off as a reporter,

Well HSE website says visors are ok. Their website is a joke. They recognise the dangers of a mask with those valves but don't recognize the danger with visors.

    HSE and Gov sites:
    How COVID-19 is spread
    Last updated: 15 October 2020 at 10.30pm

You can get the virus if you come into close contact with someone who has the virus. It is spread through droplets that come from your nose and mouth. For example, from someone who is talking loud, singing, shouting, coughing or sneezing.

You can also get the virus from surfaces, for example, when someone who has the virus sneezes. Droplets containing the virus can fall onto surfaces around them. If you touch that surface and then touch your eyes, nose or mouth, you could become infected too.

No mention of airbourne or indoor conditions.

There exists about a 10% chance you will get infected from touching surfaces. Nearly 90% of infections are caused by direct contact with people. HSE might want to update their website.

Might be a stupid question but will pubs close if we go to level 4? I see some pictures of the plan saying their open for outside only. Then others saying closed.

Stay as they are now. Hospitality is already in L4/5

From reading The Journal, it looks like 4.5 it is. If that's the case, all sports except at elite level wil stop. With exception of Inter-county games and horse racing behind closed doors ( most likely postponed) Gyms, leisure centres and swimming pools are closed. Hotels will only serve existing guests.

I think they will however revise the recommendation that makes all non-essential retail close, with only retail/ shops that aren't essential in shopping centers to close. Stay in county order, no other travel restrictions.

Mané scored for liverpool today too, fresh off his Quaratnitne.
Djokovic has won 21/22 matches post infection.

It’s an interesting article - what’s worrying for me is that a member of NPHET tweets it out now rather than implementing it as policy... NPHET consists of mainly HSE and DoH leaders... they have huge remit on test and trace but where is the strategy beyond lockdown....

De Gascun is good. At least is thinking things and believes we need to find a way to live with this.

I don’t think vaccine will be manufactured in Ringaskiddy, it was posted a few weeks ago it primarily made in USA and Belgium. They were just going move the manufacture of other products to Ireland.

Th. Journal stated it's likely they'll go with a middle ground of 4/5, most of these are all level 4 restrictions. I'm speculating about Inter-county and horse racing being postponed and also about watering down of restrictions on non-essential retail. It was also reported it's likely they will do away with 5km restrictions.

We dont have elite level sports in Ireland

A few elite level athletes, but not sports

No point closing gyms if schools are open, no point closing anything.

    Why are they so stupid?

Why has the county by county approach been binned. I live in a county with very low rates. I can’t see any need at this point in time to move us to Level 4/5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,183 ✭✭✭Jizique

Yes 30something athletes are what we should all aspire to match when we get covid 19.
Some posts here are so bovine it's hard to know if they're intended to be read 'straight'.

Well, the median age of cases is 31 and they are all attributed to GAA victories, and 1% of cases are ending up in hospital, so yes, I think 30 something athletes is not inaccurate; look at the Armagh county lads who are now back playing again

It's probably because the county with the lowest cases is higher than Laois Offally and Kildare when those 3 counties went into their mini lock down a while back.

Wasn't that mini lockdown pretty close to level 5.
