Pickford and Richarlison were reckless and deserved red cards. Saying they didn’t mean it is no excuse.

I didn’t say they didn’t deserve them, they both did and unfortunately one got away with it. I’m questioning this developing narrative that Everton intentionally took to the pitch to injure players. I’ve seen it written at least 4 times now in other threads

Why didn’t she report it to the ref and also the VAR refs would see it on their screens wouldn’t they?

The odd part is if the first incident (VVD's offside) ended play and made the second incident not a problem (Pickfords kung fu) then why did the first incident (Mina shoving ANOther) not invalidate the second incident (Richarlisons lunge at Thiago).

They should have been either both red or both nothing. By doing one of each it made it a farce.

The fact that it only happened because she is a woman is disgusting and if the FA allow it to unpunished then it no better than when they turned a blind eye to bananas being thrown onto the field in the past.

Richarlison was absolutely intentional. You do that by accident you don't act like he did after.

Pickford wasnt intentionally trying to hurt him but he knew he wasn't getting near the ball so I definitely think he meant to hit the man, you still should be punished for that challenge in my view

Ah come on I think you're smarter than that

Richarlison apologies to Thiago for that horror tackle

These lunges happen fairly regularly. They’re awful and deserve at least red cards, but do they all mean they’re intentional attempts to injure another professional? I don’t think so.

The challenge may be intentional as stupid as they are and that obviously is reckless regarding its result but I don’t believe Richarlison or any Everton player on the pitch today decide in their head ‘I’m going to do this guy in for a few weeks’ which appears to be the premise behind a few posts I’ve read.

Obviously the game is raw and emotions are still high, just think it’s a bit of a leap to be making

Liverpool have every right to question the decisions. You can't go jumping into 2 footed lunges on players, injuring them in process and expect to get it away with it just because the injured players jersey was a centimetre offside.

If that is he case, what's to stop any player in the future just kicking some one else after the whistle is gone and injuring them or if they are standing in an offside position.

Richarlison is really snide. Obviously nobody can prove it was intentional but there is a picture doing the rounds showing where he left his studs showing and high. And he was already late. Trying to act injured afterwards to con the referee into thinking that he didn't do anything wrong.

Apparently they have now said they reviewed the first one and saw no wrong doing.

No that makes it sound premeditated. I mean I believe in the moment Richarlison intended on making contact with the player using his studs up at knee height. If he intended on playing the ball he wouldn't have made the challenge in the way he did. He was also frustrated from the preceding passage of play. Watch it back and make up your own mind but watch how he goes off the pitch, reluctantly, no concern for the player and he can apologise now but in the moment I fully believe he knew he wasn't getting the ball

When do we ever see goalkeepers get reds for dangerous challenges anyway? They don't even get as many red cards for giving away penalties anymore depending on the last man rule. They are a protected species.

Heck, Schumacher even stayed on the field that time, and that was definitely more intentional in terms of having time to think what he was doing.

Exactly what I thought. Putting his hands on her neck, it's like he's trying to intimidate her - would never do it to a male assistant ref.

Aguero likely to be punished more than pickford

City have sky blue home kit. Arsenal have a red with white sleeves. No clash of colours there at all . Why are Arsenal wearing a changed strip of blue.
    Confusing!

Man City really are the kings of the constant soft fouls.

Did they not first say they didn't review anything after the offside?

Aubameyang has been useless since deciding to stay.

There's been multiple interpretations of the rules and what was actually done floating around but The Athletic are saying it was reviewed and it was decided it wasnt a red

Whatever about making a mistake and not reviewing it but actually looking at it and thinking it's not a red is mind boggling.

Yep. Wonder if he’s going to go the Ozil/Sanchez route since getting the big contract.

He signed in September 15th. Since then he's only lost twice in the league , both away to Liverpool and Man City.

Should be ashamed of himself.

    Such a nonsense post.

Handy win for City. Spent the 2nd half strolling around in 1st gear. Won’t get too many handier than that during the season.

PEA has just differed that the two games on TV are away to Liverpool and City, Arsenal play so rigid against the top teams they, don't create,
He'll be fine once they start playing other sides
