You are probably far more clear thinking and reasonable that me. D

I just can't see past how they have treated, and continue to treat people. (the organisation, not the followers, but all contribute in my eyes)

I once contemplated jumping ship to Church of Ireland, my mother sort of was half verging on being a Quaker, after all the scandals, but then we wouldn't have had that commitment to religious community that is asked in other Christian faiths-with the small congregations being slack would get noticed :D
Catholic Church is great for the less committed if one can shed the guilt.

There's loads of churches/faiths that I think are genuinely lovely people with solid beliefs and nice morals etc. It's just the Catholic Church as an organisation, I just can't get my head around how any person would want to associate themselves with them.

I think a lot of other Church organisations would have a fairly chequered past as well?
Obviously with ireland the catholic church was front and center.
