Hearing that as well. Kanturk LEA was <5 cases per 100k last week now 80 per 100k cases. Shows how fast it can spread.
Supposedly students coming home has caused it...

I think everybody needs to stop looking for people to blame ... this virus is in the midst of the second wave..... really we can only work to stop it exploding off the charts but not much else... send loving messages to your family and friends and look out for eachother....some of us will not make this winter... and other will get through it but battered and having deep PTSD....we will never be the same again but we must try to remain human

Agree. I live in Galway county, not the city. I hadn’t heard of anyone I know having Covid and now 3 this week.
There’s a huge amount of people just not following guidelines anymore. I work in retail and it’s really hard trying to deal with it

Pointing out why cases are occurring and that behaviour needs to change is not assigning blame, it's simply stating the facts.

Unless there are lots of octogenarians with underlying conditions posting on boards I'm pretty sure every single one of us will "make the winter."

Each bullet point is correct, the issue is the facts are cherry picked. None of his points address the primary concern that hospitals will be overwhelmed without restrictions.

The first lockdown worked in that it stopped the health system breaking, picking stats ignores the obvious fact that a big reason there wasn't a catastrophe in the spring was because of the restrictions he is rallying against now.
