So telling a story that's true is scaremongering?

Where are all the young people who have recovered with ease? How come we dont get to see them on TV?

Who is this Muppet trying to get Holohan to call a circuit breaker.

Same guy who tried to get him to badmouth Varadkar last week?

    Is it Paul Cullen?

Somehow the phrase “widespread community transmission” seems very ominous.

It means that schools are the cause but you can’t actually say it because it doesn’t suit the narrative.

You're in total denial. What we're doing hasn't and isn't working and if we carry on regardless, things are just going to get even grimmer.

We locked down once before in a bid to not overwhelm the hospitals and to give the gov time to sort out a TTI system that was fit for purpose. They clearly didn't do it, they failed us all. Economy is done regardless now, lots of people dont have the confidence go outdoors and spend there money in places like they did before for fear of contracting it. All lands on the government.

Let's be honest, letting the HSE run the track and trace system was always going to end in disaster.

The sign-offs for 50 more staff are probably wedged into the desk of some management level for the past two weeks, unsigned.

How is telling us about something that actually happened to a healthy person scaremongering?

Because it’s only scaring the people who are already scared. No-one who Tony is actually trying to scare is watching any of these briefings, or the news

This is the second time his story was wheeled out. Didn't make a difference the first time and I suspect it will have the same impact this time. His case is not common it's extremely rare. The cohort they are trying to frighten into compliance don't experience the virus as negatively as older people do. They don't see it as a danger.

Meanwhile in the UK, Boris is giving a press conference.

Odd turn of phrase but anyhow...

You can like it or not but Dr Holohan is really making clear who to blame if this gets into more Nursing Homes .....

He could do the honourable thing and admit that it was his decision originally that led to the initial problem with nursing homes

But the good Dr is answerable to nobody.

He really is an obnoxious ignoramus

Paul Cullen, Irish Times. I find him quite uncomfortable to listen to.

I agree, another lockdown will be a disaster, but they probably don't care about that either.

    It's a disaster either way.

One is a temporary disaster followed by a break followed by another temporary disaster in waves the other is a sustained disaster for the next 9 months.

Dr Holohan just confirmed that contact tracing can't keep up with the number of cases they're seeing. Uh oh.

I honestly think the CMO is doing his job and doing it particularly well .
The Politicians can delay and delay but it's his job to point out the facts .

They are not yesterday's. They are todays, reported to midnight last night

My apologies. The reference to 11th October confused me.

The CMO has a disgraceful track record. Yet he's hailed as a hero.

Can they give us a worst case example if we do nothing, are we talking 1% of the population dying or something more serious?
