I can't believe gyms are still allowed to be open with cases rising like they are.People seem to be of opinion they're closed but not they've not until Level 4.

Why should the gyms close? How many cases have been linked to gyms?

Interesting that would mean that people going to hospital with covid would have gone anyway even if they didn't have it..

Didn't the UL hospital group cancel elective procedures recently to make room due to the influx of covid cases?

Have any other hospitals taken this step?

It's really important to stop reading something as soon as you don't agree with it.

People breathing heavy and not wearing masks. Touching machines and weights and possibility of not everyone cleaning after use.

    Covid's wet dream...

UL was constantly a ****show even pre covid

HSE in general was a ****show pre covid - but they have an excuse this year

No, it means that some procedures have been postponed to make room for the Covid patients.

Sorry to hear that. What setting did they die in?

At home until suddenly took very unwell and died in hospital a few hours later. Little or no symptoms when tested as a close contact then five days later she was dead. Needless to say it has shaken up the neighbourhood.

    Fcuk fcuk fcukitidy fcuk

Over 1000 cases today. This is not good. Level 5 please.

Will your job be effected by a level 5 lockdown? Will you be forced to go on PUP?

It’s a little light on detail on how this would be achieved...

We know from Devi and WHO that lockdowns aren’t the preferred method - it’s more test, trace and isolate... have this group got a detailed implementation plan...

It would be great to have a plan

Obesity and diabetes are linked to severe Covid. Overall health & well being would suffer hugely due to dark winters and terrible weather. Gyms should not close and should just operate according to guidelines.

The gym I go to is cleaned every hour and also equipment cleaned between use by the users. 2m distance is also enforced. Please shows me any source that gyms are contributing to increased cases.

Fair play, didn’t think of those countries. It’s interesting that they are all Asian and, if I’m not wrong, are all strongly influenced by Confucian values.

The west’s fascination with the rights of the individual doesn’t work well in this sort of pandemic because it’s almost impossible to control the behaviour of an entire population in a democracy. That’s what’s needed to control this disease without a vaccine.

Yet the road traffic fatalities are lowest in NW Europe, people's behaviour has been regulated.

Whatever about a Covid free island.

15-17%% positivity rate is taking the absolute píss.

Going forward it has to be an all Island approach or we might as well not bother.

Deaths seem well down in comparison to the Spring at the moment, hopefully some new methods and treatments are making a difference.

    Deaths remarkably tiny by comparison

Only if you compare the deaths today with the new cases today. People do not usually die the day they test positive .

This is my concern, NI seems to be out of control altogether. Both governments/assemblies really need to come together or we are essentially pissing into the wind.

Covid doesn't care about people's well being. I like the gym as the next person but it is a great breeding ground for the virus.

I'm alright. Feeling a bit off colour this evening so using this thread as a distraction tbh!

Id imagine a lot of it is down to having icu beds, when we run out of capacity things will get worse id assume, hopefully we don't get there.

The democratic unionists seem more concerned about proving their Britishness rather than any practical co operation unfortunately.

If you go back to my post I am talking about how a gym is a lovely place for covid. Again a covid's wet dream I said. It was the first poster that I quoted that said all gyms should close. Maybe you should open your eyes more ;)

And for the record I have personally seen people use a machine and NOT clean it afterwards. Be it they don't care or just weren't thinking. It was what it was.
