I didn’t have fever either. My son did. I’ve had issues since, which are now being dealt with. Keep and eye on it, don’t take risks and take care. Good luck.

I got breathless picking up an upturned box of Lego today.

Now I'm not the fittest man on the planet by any stretch of the imagination, but Lego... it's not a joke folks.

Is there any ****ing point in doing any of the measures we are supposed to be doing. I like many have barely seen any family since early March. I’ve stuck to the guidelines but clearly the majority of us doing so means sweet **** all. I mean never mind the financial impact, but mentally I’m sure I’m not the only one who can’t take more of this ****. There needs to be some light at the end of the tunnel. It’s only a few thankfully but I hope those few in this thread who have been basically praying for high numbers are happy.

At least some of us have the maturity to accept that things aren't going well, without the need to point and laugh at others who predicted otherwise.

The blowback is the result of Comical Ali style denial of what was clearly unfolding ,go back a month and see what that cohort said, fast forward to this week gone and many of them are still largely unmoved by the clear change in circumstances.

Id imagine they will say "this is what living with the virus means". To be clear I don't agree with them

Just in terms of tracing and offering testing to all close contacts I presume we're now at a point where that is no longer possible?

It's getting slower. They still haven't rang me about my close contacts, apparently they do it in two calls, first is just a questionnaire.

Can anyone shine some light on the spike in Meath? Numbers were low tens for ages. Local media don't seem to be touching it either...

When the "predicitions" were just utter fantasy displayed as facts while any actual facts were dismissed as being "hysteria" there was no maturity on display.

    Short memories.

Make sure you keep an eye on it and get medical advice if it continues. Heavy constricted chest and breathlessness do not sound like mild symptoms.

Is this going to cause hysteria in the media? Are drums going to start beating for level four or five?

What do you mean? There's no exaggerations or mistruths in that post. The situation is very clearly quite quickly worsening no matter how optimistic your perspective is on this

80 in Cavan, you'd wonder if that's related to the hospital.

You could enquire locally how related it is post county football final celebrations

Last week NPHET predicted 1300 daily by the end of the month without action, it would appear it's accelerating even faster than they thought?

He appears to be the only person at the top who’s not afraid to acknowledge the realities we are facing into, and the only person willing to take measures in order to mitigate or avoid the eventual catastrophe we are hurtling towards. He is the antithesis of Trump. What you are suggesting is outrageous.

Even if level 3 stabilises like it looks like it has in Dublin. With no further growth, were now stabilising at 900ish cases a day. Considering there's likely to be more growth before we start stabilising, it's clear to me that something has to come on to actually reduce the rate as our hospitals will be fecked at this daily case load over a sustained period

Hysteria is becoming my top list hated word. Most using it in wrong ways.

Hit the switch to keep the lights on.

No point in being knee jerk but..

If you work in a precarious job or in the hospitality/retail sector, get ready to have your job disappear again and be back to the PUP.

Although Lockdown is inevitable at this stage for a couple of reasons (our underfunded HSE unable to cope, and our Track and Trace creaking), it’s really weird to see people practically begging for it though. So many peoples lives will be irreparably damaged and changed over night. But hey, their chances of getting Covid might fall. And that’s all that really matters.

Just think some on here could spare a thought for people left out of work, isolated and lonely in the coming weeks when level 5 happens. Covid isn’t the only thing that can damage people’s lives.

I hope not. Unless I’m misunderstanding, we haven’t had long enough yet to see the effect of level 3 restrictions. We should wait to see that first and only ramp up if it clearly isn’t working. However, the optics here are terrible for the government and they’ll be under massive pressure if the next few days hit the 1,000 mark.
