Welcome to Covid without a lockdown everyone. Enjoy the ride, mind yourself and stay safe. March was the walk in the park.

Anyone know if the couple of 100 cases backlog is in that number today?

Seems like a bit of a backlog from yesterday, yesterday's case load was smaller than the positive swab number by a few hundred. Similar number of positive swabs today as yday iircc

We'll be grand just get some extra beds from the private hospitals like we did a few months ago

Today's numbers just shows the exponential growth that is often talked about by the experts. These numbers are going to keep on climbing and see-sawing about the place.

I said a few weeks ago we will be seeing a 1000 cases a day soon but I estimated halloween time. I never would have thought to see it so early in October.

Now I know the reason why NHPET was pushing for a level 5 last week. To get the numbers down as much as possible before the Christmas otherwise it will turn it a very dark Christmas for many people and families.

All of them. Backlog is only a timing issue. Doesn’t make cases less ‘real’

How many positive swabs were in the last 24 hours?

Where are the people who were saying it's under control a month ago?

They are all here saying the hospitals and deaths are low

I'd imagine so, there were only the 900-odd positive swabs there.

Wonder what day I got included... :pac:

Loads of time for you to get role madness together anyway. Hope your are keeping well!

    Are they not real cases?

The deniers disregard any case that is more than 24 hours old.

According to many of the covid19 experts here, all these people were admitted with broken legs and other ailments and diseases and they just happened to show positive on testing.

I honestly think all these 'told you so' comments are disgusting. Acting as if everyone's playing some sort of game. This is far from a game.

So how many real cases were there when you take away the backlog?

At most a 'backlog' of a day or maybe two, real as real can be, those people are still infected

On a serious note, is there any chance that Top Gun 2 will be released this side of Christmas?

They must have been 10,000 - 15,000 a day to do that damage back in March/April

We will never get to that level again lockdown or not

Not too bad, no improvement either. Chest still feels like it's cased in cement.

Thankfully got the wife and kids sorted for tests tomorrow but booked at different times by out of hours GP

This sounds like what I had first week of February. I probably should have gone to hospital at the time but waited it out. I felt it was touch and go for a bit, but never considered it was Covid at the time.

And when the icu numbers rise what will they say?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 528 ✭✭✭sterz

Is it really that surprising we have such high numbers now compared to April? Back in April it was nearly impossible to get a test (had to have one of the main symptoms). That process has totally changed since then so we're really not comparing like with like.
