And just to add to my earlier post, a large group of men from the north are now sitting in the hotel bar having drinks and the craic... albeit split onto two tables .....

I asked reception what the policy was and they advised they are taking bookings from anywhere and it’s up to the customers to decide whether to come or not. So tempted to ring the guards. Have told them how unhappy I am and am staying well away from anyone else here.

Where is this hotel and how is the indoor eating/drinking open?

    Get over yourself

An easy mistake due to RTE making a balls of it.

Go have a little cry now.

It's what we should have aimed for. If only government were willing to tackle incoming flights, as well as border crossing at the critical moment in April/June.

    It's allowed for hotel residents.

I think it's the only real way to beat covid, we'll probably see a joint lockdown in Europe after Christmas

Let’s see how their economy does over the next 24 months - Australia even more at risk there as they pissed China off and who will be buying all the mining products

And all they had to do was tank their economy and be 4000km from the nearest country......... We should all do that.....

Let’s see how ours does. Running out of things to spend money on. I’ve decided to stay in tonight mainly because there is nothing else to do as restaurants, bars and cinemas closed.

It's even better for NZ as they are split (albeit unevenly) between two large islands.
