    It doesnt really matter?
Everyone has a part to play. Need to stop blaming others.

I agree everyone needs to act responsible, play their part but it is spreading, numbers increasing

Albert Einstein is widely credited with saying, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.

How long before the 'powers that be' realize that this 'living with covid' notion is just not working ?

    1. It’s a stupid saying.
    2. The government are doing something different.
    3. Living with a disease, what do you expect will happen?

Why do RTE have Catriona Perry broadcasting indoors from Derry, talk about wreckless.

Exactly what I said to my husband. Its an absolute joke. I was stopped at two checkpoints on my way to work today which is in education so have to be there.

Meanwhile they send her up North to achieve what? They already have a Northern correspondence who could do any interviews from there.

Is she going to self isolate now for 14 days or go back mixing with everyone tomorrow?

What impression will that give to everyone in Ireland if up North today + then back in rte studio tomorrow.

I'm making a complaint to rte.

Is there any site or Twitter account with graphs for each county or even just Dublin?

The death rate up North is a lot lower per case.
Either they are super healthy or we count them differently.

I'd say schools having longer mid term October Halloween break looking likely

ACE says otherwise. It's Cork, so not subject to the concerns of elsewhere.;)

They are definitely not healthier anyway so the latter I imagine.

One word from that doctor on RTE news about this - complacency!

Whats the alternative, lock up everyone in their house and put half a million out of work. We are in the middle of a pandemic, people are going die and get sick.

What sort of capacity with regard to hospital beds and icu beds do Northern Ireland have?

Have they better capacity numbers than ourselves per capita?

Was the mask wearing legislation signed in again? Or can we go maskless in shops?

I thought it was mandatory  I'm noticing lately less masks more visors and shields

Because they're smaller, less dense populations? Cork's cases are coming from the city, we know that from the LEA maps.

Yes but when Dublin hit 200, even with its population density , there was a lot of discussion about increasing restrictions .
So why is Cork different ?
Those numbers are appalling and there is no wiggle room atm in the Cork hospitals .
Those other counties have Dublin and Midlands hospitals to go to.

Cases graphs are easy to access but im finding it difficult to find how much testing has been done over the last few months. Is there a link to this data anywhere?

The UK is testing now over 20 times more than April for example.

8 into ICU in the last 24 hours is the most concerning statistic this long time. And I am in no way a doom merchant.

Who said Cork is different? You're trying to make something out of nothing now.

Total joke alright. Send her up across the border to report on the risks associated with people crossing the border. Hard to think that this was a considered decision, taken in the public interest. Just because you can RTE, doesn't mean you should.

250+ in 21 counties is scant on detail.

    How many in Donegal?

They report with a one-week lag, so there's likely going to be some increase soon.

The annoying part about it is the App doesn't even provide up to date data, it's from two days ago.
