    91 cases in Dublin.
    76 in Cork.
    53 in Donegal.
42 in Meath and the remaining 244 cases are located across 21 counties.

    Open the Dublin pubs!

There is a difference of 248 between positive swabs and announced cases. There is no way there are that many re-tests, so today’s numbers should be fielded in the context of a potential backlog.

We probably need to see what happens over the next couple of days before making any pronouncements.

Said yesterday that nursing home testing was being ramped up because of clusters .

Doesn’t explain it though. Why would they retest positive cases in nursing homes?

I know it was asked yesterday but wasn't really explained. Any idea why they've stopped publishing specific numbers for counties? (even when the total is greater than 5)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 18,539 ✭✭✭✭Goldengirl

    76 in Cork....this is bad.

Yes and numbers up around the country too .
But if Dublin coming under control maybe this level 3 will work everywhere else too in a couple of weeks .
Trying to be positive here ;)

I’d say there is no more to it than they would be listing 20 counties a day if they announced all those with 5+ cases.

As yesterday shows lets not just react to 1 days its the 7 and 14 days instances that should be looked at. Hopefully its a trend and it shows that Level 3 can work and hope it works quick before ICU and High dependency is not overrun

Hasn't that always been the process though? Would just take a bit longer to do a press release with them.

Dublin vs Non-Dublin core numbers for the past 3 weeks.

Dublin at 14 day percentage growth 14.68% which is consistently declining versus outside of Dublin consistently growing to 126.53% now. This is the immediate impact between Level 2 and Level 3, it's a question for the government of whether this can be sustained in Dublin and whether the same will happen in 2-3 weeks time in the rest of the country, I worry the NI situation will see the border counties will become a problem in achieving this

Yeah, I heard that. Can’t see them retesting 248 healthcare workers in a day and they all coming back as still being positive.

There is a backlog of some description coming.
