No. They can answer the questions any way they want. They can answer the question with what they had for lunch. It's the opponents job to come back on it, not the moderators.

First I seen of her. I agree. She's a bit too causal and slow in her responses, given this is a VP debate. She needs to be a bit more passionate rather than coming across like she's on a chat show.

She comes across as a bit fake and aloof. Too much talk about Trump and "Joe" but very little policy discussion.
Pence is there to defend Trump and his record, that is his job and is doing a slick job at it even though I disagree with him on many many issues.

Harris is there to tell voters why they deserve a chance.
She had to do better than just repeating, "Trump is bad, m'kay!"

Neither at all pushed by the moderator on it whatsoever. Not good enough whatsoever.

The packing the supreme court question came from Pence.

The abortion question was roundly ignored alright. Like almost all questions all night from Pence.
