Whatever happened to "Help the Halloween Party" when I was a nipper? Got loads of peanuts and apples and some goodies.

    But now? Trick or Treat.

Has any kid been Tricked? Load of BS.

Maybe good enough for the over indulged kids. Halloween, NO. Communion and loadsa moolah No, Confirmation and moolah No. Christmas, not sure.

I reckon the parents are more worried than the kids. Just throw them a few bob yourself in fivers and there will be no Mental Health issues for the kids.

Said with the utmost respect for those who actually ARE suffering MH wise, but kids? Nah.

Totally agree here. Give kids what they need to create their own entertainment, to develop their own imaginations and creativity. I saw a simple cardboard Wendy house thing in Lidl not long ago which I thought was brilliant. It was plain for colouring too. Excellent cheap toy and more fun than much more expensive stuff, hours of fun and then easily disposed of when finished with.

He also said take Dublin out and the R number is closer to 1.5 for every other county

Because level 3 is working in Dublin. If the r0 for the country is 1.2, and excluding Dublin its 1.5, for Dublin only it must be below one.

surely its going to continue growing for a while yet, 1.2 won't be the peak r number

Why would you think it would increase? Do you know what the r number means?

Yeah, I think they mentioned it was about 1 in Dublin..

A simple, cheap, store-bought solution using HEPA air filters duct-taped onto box fans could dramatically reduce the amount of virus that accumulates in the air, Milton and Srebric say.

The idea, they note, originated with Richard Corsi, an indoor air quality expert at Portland State University. Basically, you take a box fan and duct-tape a HEPA air filter to the front of it. Then you place a fan on either side of the speaker. One box fan would be blowing toward the speaker, while the other fan would be blowing away from the speaker.

Well not so old, but take your point. I am fed up with all this BS that ensures we are muzzled in case we say anything that is not on point.

    Herd immunity lol.

Some fierce tabloidy questions here, Jesus.

In keeping with that - where's the hot redhead? This fecking video is only showing the board.

    Edit: Nevermind.

Rubbish ones. Here's a synopsis I quickly transcribed.

    Q. Do we have a definitive number around covid 19 cases arising from schools?

    A. They gave figures up to 28th September, 183 schools who had undergone mass testing.

18 schools and 9 childcare facilities had more than one linked case.

In many instances a case will have arisen through other activities in the community. It can be difficult to determine that the case occurred within the school setting.

    Q. Is the fact that the numbers increased in the school aged group from 567pw at the end of August (age 5 - 14) to 1323 to 4th August (more than double) significant?

    A. Glynn said the absolute number of cases across all age groups are increasing.

    Q. Journo said if you look at the cohort it rises from 1.97% to 3.43% of all cases

    A. 2-Friends Nolan leapt in to say that you can't just look at the raw numbers, the proportion of cases in children as a percentage of the age structure of the population. How much is each cohort contributing to the overall incidence which is growing quickly and the incidence in primary and secondary school children is growing more slowly than in the overall population.

Prof Numberwang is going to put together a big load of nonsense and present something to verify what they want to prove there with schools not being a driver of transmission, but good and all as he is on other fronts I'd say that modelling might as well go in the bin. He has been an absolute tosser for jiggery pokery with school numbers.

Better known as facts. Doesn’t go down too well with some here

    https://www.limerickleader.ie/news/home/579147/limerick-doctor-removed-from-role-as-chair-of-shannondoc-after-covid-rally-speech.html
The chairperson of Shannondoc has been removed from his position, after he delivered a scathing anti-Covid restriction speech against Nphet and the Government at a rally in Dublin at the weekend.

Dr Patrick Morrissey, who operates a clinic in Adare, told the Limerick Leader that a meeting of the Shannondoc board on Monday night concluded that he was to be removed from the board as chairman and director.

In a lengthy speech that was widely circulated on social media, Dr Morrissey said that the National Public Health Emergency Team [Nphet] was “completely out of touch” and it “should be scrapped”.

Biggest fun in our house was making a tent in the bed with a couple of sweeping brushes to keep the duvet up lol. I am sure you can figure out how hilarious and often disastrous that was. But the kids loved it.

Didn't cost anything either. And emptying the pot drawer along with some spoons. Simple things. But the noise!

Using the most recent stats I could find, there's been 48328 hospital days with covid patients (215 days in total with an average of 224.74 patients per day). There was a total of 3701 patients in that timeframe, gives me an average stay of 13 days.
My math or understand could be wrong, but I'm open for correction.

is that taking into account the first confirmed patient being mid february, I think the 16th?

I think you're right. Even though I was locked down/out of work for 7 weeks and it was tough, the weather was fairly good which helped.
Being prevented from moving around I found extremely difficult to handle ( I tend to move around a fair bit at work ).

I actually think they'll inforce even stricter measures now as the earlier ( Spring) ones would not have the same effect.

Look after your mental health guys.
