God the level of quality journalism in Ireland is absolutely shocking.

Halloween, Christmas, try and stir up a hornets nest with fake issues between Leo and Tony, and what time Holohan took a sh1te at on Sunday morning.

Absolutely embarrassing to listen to the questions you wouldn't have a student union paper ask.

Actually it’s very relevant. You had ministers and Leo talking about how shocked they were and how NPHET’s communications were poor.

If Donnelly knew by tea time on Sunday evening, well before the leaks, then the communication issues are on Donnelly and the government, not NPHET as Leo alluded to.

I'm wondering that myself, I'm wondering is this a stage play to prepare us mentally.

There never was any tension between NPhet and Gov. Only on the surface as reported by rags.

I think, like our idiot friend Trump's diagnosis, this was very carefully orchestrated. But we shall see.

Yes, I think Tony hasn’t much time for Donnelly and is hanging him out to dry.

20 days average hospital stay for Covid can't be right?

3,676 patients have went to hospital with Covid

    That's 73,520 hospital days

Covid is here what 200 days, nearly 7 months?

367 patients daily on average have been staying in hospital over the last 7 months

I don't get it, anyone good at the math?

Average means they add up the amount of days by the people in hospital and divide that number. If there is some high numbers for some patients this may but the average out of whack

Also you know patients can be in hospital at the same time they don't go in 1 at a time so why are you multiplying days by patients

Looking increasingly likely we'll need a circuit breaker in November/early December.

We all need a hug and a jar at Christmas.

Interesting thing about Nolan's analysis is if he's correct - and I seriously hope he isn't - a circuit breaker would only act as mitigation measure at that point. We would already be set to be swamped.

20 days definitely isn't right. Maybe they meant ICU patients or something?

Red hair lady said 20 days is the average for a Covid patient stay, not ICU, she meant hospital

Journalist should have picked up on it, useless they are

    Trumper!!

    Haven't heard that one before.

    Funny!!

Truth though isn't it. Thinking the government/NPHET are massaging figures to suit agendas. Real tin foil hat stuff.

It still wouldn't make 20 days

Would have to be a load of people over 20 days to make it an average, as in loads of people with 30/40 day stays

I made all patients average in my model :pac:

The virus is enjoying a sherry while it toys with us.

I'm glad the Government is finally on top of the candemic. "When you see slabs of cans being taken home you know that they are not being taken home for an after-dinner aperitif."

We're in the middle of a candemic! Just stick to a Spritzer or a tasteful Napoleon cognac for the love of mercy!

Very interesting numbers. It's amazing this isn't being more vocalised by our state broadcaster.... :pac:

Do the numbers show the same for Donegal and Cork I wonder. It's probably unfortunate Donegal is positioned awkwardly with the border, so the levelling system does not reflect the same for some counties.
