For today? The incidence in Dublin has dropped for 3 days running

Cases increased today. So the 14 day incident rate will reflect that over the next few days.

It’s not great in Dublin still ad the majority of hospital cases are there.

Dublin isn’t out of the woods by any stretch

Ah yeah sore people's jobs and livelihoods are just waffle.

    Public sector worker alert.

He explained it very well. He explained how NPHET hadn't thought through what they were proposing and the fact that they had moved their position so extremely in 3 days. They didn't have a course of action to recommend if the "circuit breaker" failed.

I've seen a lot of **** written in the last couple of days about Leo said. Both misrepresenting what he said and claiming he didn't explain the decision making process.

Criticise the guy all you like but at least base it in some sort of reality.

Level 3 hasn’t made any difference to cases in Dublin or Donegal in nearly 3 weeks.

Only a matter of time before we go to level 4, and probably level 5.

And during all them we will continue to ignore the problems of Schools, the north, Travel, nursing homes, workplaces.

But let’s stop people buying a bottle of wine.

Have to Tony handled this very well.

Nolan's analysis was sobering though. Cannot see our health care capacity coping. Not without diverting major resources away from everyday services. :(

You have to blame some people who got it for being arseholes, there's no other way to put it.

I thought he resiled because his beloved wife is terminally ill. Just saying. And hope she is OK for now too.

Yes indeed that was the case. I'm hoping she found some effective stabilising treatment.

    Bit of privacy would help.

Don't tell Boggles this... his head would explode, how can cases possibly drop with schools open

High swaps today, could easily be 600 cases tomorrow and 200-300 of those cases in Dublin. Dublin has stabilized at a huge number.

I think that's been happening since March and April, all other services are curtailed to make way for the Virus.
Also nothing improved during the first lockdown..

Will you all just calm down and go outside of a walk or something instead of calling for level 5. Jesus

It'll be great news if Level 3 works to suppress the virus. Not ideal obviously for the businesses affected, but it gives us a base to build from.

Please can we beat Slovakia tomorrow evening to give the country some kind of a lift out of this mess.

More chance of a working vaccine discovered tomorrow night than that shower beating anyone!

    Tony: "We are deeply concerned..."

    Banging the same old drum.

I'd be worried if he wasn't concerned.

People need to stop comparing us to Europe
It’s as irrelevant as comparing us to NZ

We have our own health service, that we need to protect. What they do in any other country makes no difference to that

This is the highest daily increase in cases since the end of April

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭MOR316

Can't speak for anyone else but, if we are to go to Level 5, I'd personally rather we went to level 5 from next Monday, for 4-6 weeks, if it meant Christmas could still be had at level 2

Understand it would/could be economically seriously damaging though

The alternative has been spoken about for over six months now; encourage the vulnerable to restrict themselves.

If they introduce level 5 people will take to the streets and I don't mean the usual nutjobs.

How do you propose protecting the vulnerable with high rates of community transmission? There's 30+ open outbreaks in nursing homes currently.

    Nolan spelled this out.
