I'll give you a clue. Most children are asymptomatic and probably not tested, but can still spread it in the family home to people who are symtomatic and tested.

    Crazy, right?

What data do you have to support the idea that few children are getting tested? If your theory was correct, we'd surely be seeing highest infection rates in the 35 - 45 age group, but we are not.

And people still think we have draconian rules here lol

We shut down pubs and restaurants for the whole country so not sure what the lol is about.

Its a local lockdown in Scotland.

Rural Scotland will still have resturants and bars open.

    Woah there.

No one is blaming anyone. Especially not kids and teachers. We need to stop blaming everyone. Jesus. Or at least stop saying everyone else is blaming someone else.

In fairness most of your posts seem to be about blaming schools for rising numbers. Almost like you’ve an agenda. This I find quite disturbing, that a member of society would want to deny the youth their education and futures due to some strange obsession with wanting schools closed. Children are not badly affected by Covid, they don’t seem to spread it either especially younger children.

My own hunch, and that's all it is (no proof, no stats, no quotes) is that the upsurge is partly down to schools reopening. And I can offer no solutions. My hunch is that in a few months time we will all be told that children are significant carriers. Take it with a pinch of salt, but my tuppence worth of thought at the minute,

    Interview was Monday night.

    Good old Leo.

The checkpoints at rush hour are ridiculous. Just antagonising already stressed commuters.

I suppose the one id see is what the hse constitute a close contact in school vs everywhere else being vastly different, if i kid in class is confirmed positive, they might only class the kids closest to them as a close contact, 2 maybe 3 more children out of a class of 25-30. This however varies massively school to school.

People that are pinning for Sinn Fein to be in power take a look
At the north and the fantastic job they are doing up there 🙈🙈

Agree numbers have definitely gone up from the 200’s of a few weeks ago. On another note I can’t understand either why the focus is on county borders and not 20 km as it was before. I will have to drive 46km to get to a Tesco in my county 26 to one in my neighbouring county.

But wasn't it the closing of schools in March that spread the virus even further because it meant children would be more likely to hang around on streets and in parks?

I assumed it was the lack of distancing at Gaelic county final victory celebrations that caused the surge.

So schools should close because of a ‘hunch’ and some part of society has to be blamed for increasing numbers? No one is to blame, numbers are rising all across Europe. You could go out in a mask and visor and still contract Covid. They just reduce risk, not eliminate it. Weather is changing, we wasted the last 6 months not getting our house in order and now they think they can lock us & our futures down to achieve the unachievable.

The logic of blame is bizarre. FF are blamed here as they are the leading party in government. SF are blamed in the north and they are the smaller group in a power sharing arrangement with Arlene Foster's DUP.

It's just blame who you dislike. And I'm not political.

    This keeps coming up
The North takes orders from Boris. Why the need to keep slating them would fg/ff do much better up there ???

RTÉ News Now broadcasts it - it usually starts late, but when it begins they'll cut to it.

All eyes on Tony and if any jibes at government.

If he's professional he should just stick to the health facts.

He always did when he was CMO tbf. I see no reason why that would change. If he's critical of government he would be signing his own P45.
