The Health Minister actually did not see/listen to the Tanaiste’s interview from last night? Is this a joke..?

It's literally an unbelievable comment for him to make. There is no way he has not seen the pertinent couple of minutes where Varadkar thrashed NPHET.

We should push for zero Thomas Ryan

Total spoofer. Get to zero and stay there? Impossible.

It's a limp media effort to seek out balance, where there really isn't any.

    Was my personal favourite.

It beggars belief. I thought I was watching some sort of Steve Coogan spoof or something.

he said he didn't see the interview but listen carefully as he states that leo said some positive things..so he did watch it, otherwise how would he know the positive...in any case I don't like him particularly but he's right to brush that ****e aside. I've heard phrases all day like "scathing remarks...under the bus..Chasm of disconnect!!! it proves one thing, the media are only out for a story, they're far from in this together...

The hack of RTE running a campaign about knowing where your facts come from...Tubridy and claire byrne first in with their, look at us, we're just like you, we can get sick too folks, we're in this together!!! pay your licence!

He's clueless like many of our experts.

He doesn't believe you can live with covid and has no interest in talking about increasing hospital capacity.

This virus is here for another year, vaccine or no vaccine, and shutting everything down every couple of months is not a viable option.

That Stephen Donnelly is an atrocious spoofer and waffler. Impossible to listen to him.

It's the letter, which they did release details of.

Tbf, it's the correct answer to a silly question. Should Leo apologise to Tony isn't something anyone cares about.

“I didn’t see it” is not the correct answer. He’s not Arsene Wenger ffs. Dodge the question but don’t answer it with what is obviously a lie.

Ireland’s “we are all in this together” looking even less like a thing each day.
It doesn't have to be all, even 75% would do. The CMO used the word broad.

If this is true it could raise questions about contact tracing in schools. The 2 teachers could also have picked it up outside of school environment too.

You know what I mean, their advice was leaked.

NPHET made recommendations totally within their remit in the letter, which was then leaked to the media, most likely by someone in Government. Unless they leaked it, which I find highly unlikely considering that it's created an instantenous shytestorm for them, then it's not a case of them going rouge.

That café in Cork seeded other workplaces and I believe at least one school.

Does it actually matter if he see's it not, this is school yard gossip. The two people involved can sort it out between themselves and will carry on working professionally together. Everyone who gets interviewed doesn't have to give their opinion on it to get some acclaim. "Thrashed" - for the love of god.

It does matter. We all know he's seen it and by pretending he hasn't it proves he's not an honest operator

The cases have been high now for several weeks. Has there been a significant increase in hospitalisations?

    Answer ... No.

Ah I know, but times are very different now. Still not dictating to them, but would hope they might just be a little bit sensible for a few weeks. God I sound ancient :P

They have been sensible for comming on 8 months.

I would certainly loose discipline long ago if I was them

Being really sick is no longer enough to convince the public that a shut down is necessary.

    Deaths must have skyrocketed?

If they were going to push the income tax rate to 50% next week you can be sure that would be leaked instantly. This is no different, it's a guaranteed instant leak. It's not rogue but there was a series of events that could have been dealt with better and by talking to others. Their problem is that everything was fine on Thursday, they then told nobody what was going on, didn't involve anyone else, didn't consider any other effects and sent a letter on a Sunday night signalling maximum restrictions by midnight on Monday. Even on Sunday evening some of of NPHET were saying they didn't expect the government to go for it.

Has anyone got a view on the rent a crowd anti vaccine, anti mask, anti everything that are marching with impunity while the rest of us are observing the rules.

Contrast to those who observe. I am sick of this now.

Surely there is a balance in law between free speech and encitement for the greater good of society now and then. I dunno. Even for the period of the L3 thing would be good to shut them up wouldn't it?

I suppose it will give them the publicity they crave though.

Sure, unless someone fesses up. But generally speaking political correspondents tend to have a lot more dealings and connections with politicians and Government ministers and other "well connected sources" than they do with NPHET. It's hardly that much of a stretch to presume that the leak came from the Government side - considering that NPHET immediately took the political flak for it.

Sure, yes, maybe Tony Holohan wanted to turn himself into a hate figure in the eyes of many and possibly fatally undermine his position and authority and strengthen the Goverment's control over the situation by leaking the letter.

Oh the IQ levels of this reply. Your honesty is based on how well you can gossip and add fuel to the fire. They're only asking these people because I'm sure neither Tony or Leo could give two ****s about talking about it through cameras.

I'm far from a fan of Donnelly but I've been waiting for someone to brush this stupid topic aside.

Tough. They and you seem to want this thing to just spread now because the snowflakes can't cope. God love them.

Every other coping person is ok. But I get that you might be judgy and provocative. That's fine. Without that the site is dead. :p
