Anyone else take a half day to go to the pub?

Thats from a citizens advice website.

From the actual legisation: 2. These Regulations shall remain in operation until the 5th day of October 2020.

I wonder which is right, a website edited by a Grade 3 civil servant or actual legislation. It's a toughie.

Civil service doesn't have numerical grades.

Masks do not stop covid I thought that was blindingly obvious at this stage

Masks greatly reduce the spread of Covid 19, I thought that was blindingly obvious at this stage.

You are taking to an anti-masker, anti-vaxer, borderline covid denier. I wouldn't waste your breath trying to get him to believe proven scientific facts.

There are 0 studies to say masks reduce transmission the way they're been rolled out here. That is a undeniable fact, don't tell me your a scientific fact denier.
Don't bother posting some lab study, simple fact of the matter the covid committee was told that cases could go up with the non science based approach we took to masks, guess what Carl Heneghan was correct.

I'm not an antivaxxer at the same time i'm not a big enough dope to run out and get the first covid vaccine rolled out, I'm old enough to remember the swine flu pandemic and the damage that vaccine done to a friends daughter.

Anyway i'm off to stick on my favorite Corrs cd and chop down some 5g masts, might stop in the pub on my way home and shoot some chemtrails with the boys.

    Carpe Diem!

    Q

    https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/2020/1004/1169397-level-5-at-a-glance/

Going by the charts going around level 3 had

Bars/restaurants/cafes- Open additional for indoor dining

    Wet pubs- Open additional restrictions

So they changed that unchallenged and put these into the level 4 category

You're talking absolute rubbish my friend! Astonishing!

    Mentions of renewal: 0

I wonder which is right, a website edited by a Grade 3 civil servant or actual legislation. It's a toughie.

I'd say they're both right. From the actual relevant legislation:
    2. Regulation 2 of the Health Act 1947 (Section 31A – Temporary Restrictions) (Covid-19) (Face Coverings in Certain Premises and Businesses) Regulations 2020 (S.I. No. 296 of 2020) is amended by the substitution of “the 9th day of November 2020” for “the 5th day of October 2020”.
Masks do not stop covid I thought that was blindingly obvious at this stage, there has been multiple outbreaks in shopping centers where compliance is nearly 100%
There had been very little outbreaks in restaurants/pubs where masks aren't required.
The mandatory mask law expired yesterday and was not renewed, it's still in effect until November on public transport but you can not go to jail for not wearing one in a shop anymore.
It hasn't the shop one expired on the 5th of October, the Public transport one was extended previously. The website is misleading go look at the law introduced.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you might want to follow your own advice (PDF, may download)

It's not like this stuff is hidden away hard to find

I'm in the local with all the regulars, have pledged our avowed support to Charlie the barman. He is going to operate the house on a limited basis from Thursday to Sunday, outdoor heating as needed. Common sense reigns. And f*ck the begrudgers.

Any chance of sharing with us the location, would be mighty fine to have something to look forward to on Saturday

Then why are you making the big muscle flexing proclamations and **** the begrudgers guff talk? They’re just opening as they’re allowed.

You probably need to go out for a pint if things are that sheltered.

Patrons wouldn't dare use such uncouth language in my local watering hole. Disgraceful!

I've been to many colder countries in Autumn and Winter and they just get on with sitting outside. Few punters are inside really, the craic is at the outside tables. Plenty of blankets and heaters. And this was pre Covid.

We need to adapt and wear the terminals lol if we want to socialise, because this is the way to go now.

Getting my last few pints in before we have to wait another 6/8 months

How the food pubs issues suddenly disappeared is beyond me

    Agreed!

And close off the little roads that are not needed.

Let the council relax their outside rules. Plenty of opportunity for adaption.

Those other countries have nice outdoor seating areas on beautiful squares or overlooking glistening canals. Not sure sitting out in a car park in driving horizontal rain with 14 other people will float the boat of many.

Lads congratulating themselves for going to the pub and "fcuking the begrudgers" with lock ins. There seems to be no sign of intelligent life anywhere these days.
