At least it's a good Dublin number on a "bad" day - Tuesday! :)

A bit more detail would be nice just throwing 200 cases into the "other" pile is a shoddy news release

Not released yet, perhaps saving them for TG4 news, lol.

Probably be released with the weather forecast.!
    Same level of accuracy.!!!

Prrof that level 3 with elements of level 5 (pubs) work. The rest of the country is on level 3 with elements of level 4. Even if Dublin works the rest might not.

Donegal is the Guinea pig and its another few days before we will have indications.

So will food pubs be open this weekend in Dublin?

They can remain open but can only serve outside since Dublin went to level 3 a few weeks ago. I think Publin had a recent list but not sure if there's been any changes since

Donegal not doing well with level 3. Derry/Strabane next door an absolute shambles. Likely spilling over into Donegal.

I hope plenty of those checkpoints are around the border areas

Why are nursing homes so bad ? Because they are still allowing multiple visitors. 2 per day and any of 4 visitors total.

All things considered that’s slack as fûck policy making. Gotta be more cautious.

Nursing home visits were stopped nearly 3 weeks ago. Any home still allowing visitors shouldn't be.
Actually just realised that was Dublin nursing homes, when Dublin went to level 3.556666! Instructions were to stop all visiting which we did.

Yeah, the border counties are going to be a real problem. Need the Northern Ireland government to step up to the plate and take action. Shocking lack of leadership.

111 in Dublin, 51 in Donegal, 41 in Cork, 32 in Clare.

Remaining 197 are located across 20 counties.

What's the use of just mentioning the 197 cases without a more detailed breakdown?

Swabs were higher than that though so it's just cases going to be reported another day

Cork's numbers seem to have stabilised a bit too.

I'm so confused. So the whole country is level 3 now, but only Dublin can't have pubs open (not counting the outside thing)?
Isn't the 3 weeks up on Saturday though?

Is it a Tony Holohan thing to not give a better breakdown on daily county cases?
denotification of 8 confirmed cases today also.

    No they weren't.

Probably just a reflection of the numbers. They used to name check every county with 5 or more cases. There were 21 such counties yesterday so they may have ‘raised the bar’ on which counties they announce.

Dublin can only have pubs that serve food open, with a max of 15 people, and only outdoors

Everywhere else can have all pubs open with a max of 15 people and only outdoors

Nowhere can have customers indoors in pubs and restaurants
And Dublins three weeks has been extended to the 27th October

Why are the vintners not questioning why wet pubs went to level 4 last night .Pubs are now level 4 simple as that .Level 3 is open the bars with extra restrictions in place .Level 4 is the 15 outdoors .Check the charts in place yesterday.

Is 15 outdoor just for dining?

HSPC actually do all the reporting, he just presents it.

Dublin was always that way. Donegal different and now everywhere else different in that aspact. Original Dublin restrictions were meant to finish on Saturday alright afaik but now extended with the nationwide ones to at least 27th October when they are due to be reviewed.

    Very high again.. Not good

432 per 4.9m give us a rate that's far lower than the vast majority of western Europe. It's hardly "not good".

You joined the site a week ago and have posted the same angry/worried post in this thread 210 times.

Go for a walk. Call a mate. Have a beer. This behavior isn't good for you

The detailed break down will be published in 2 days.

They always highlight the highest and group the rest.

The problem is the virus has reseeded nationwide and that lump number is now catching the eye because it is far larger than we are used to.

Put Donegal on level 5 and open the pubs in Dublin IMO

Hasn't MM covered that in we don't want to go to Level 4 & 5? I'd expect the government to just announce it without any NPHET meetings.
why did they keep telling us that they spent many weeks coming up with this living with covid plan if they are not willing to use all 5 levels it?

why is Leo saying they the CMo hadn't got any idea of how they would manage level 5, had they not being planning all summer for it?

Donegal was bad before their neighbours.

Yes Donegal is in a bad place.
I don’t see Dublin moving back to level 2 ahead if the rest of the country. Then you would have dubs travelling everywhere picking it up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,229 ✭✭✭Sweet.Science

Some dublin's numbers are looking ok . Why on earth was a full nationwide lockdown advised ?

No wonder right wing loons are protesting . Giving them enough fuel

RTE are remarkable, actually shameless. Absolutely lashing the government for not following the NPHET and not going to level 5. Then turn around and do a section on all the businesses around the country that will be devestated by going to level 3 all because of the govt.

They're a shambles, and completely oblivious to the fact that it was a RTE journo who leaked the thing causing this omni shambles

Also George completely ignoring the Dublin #'s coming down, now choosing to refer to the 14 day rate not coming down - picking and choosing stats to suit his doom laden narrative.

RTE, they're not good for the oul mental health!
