Any news yet on the enhanced enforcement measures to be taken against the fcukwits who will try to flout the the level 3 restrictions?

Increased funding to Garda Overtime. They won't get any further "enforcement" powers. They still can't legally stop you leaving your county, go into houses etc.

I fully expect the anti-mask fascists, will be protected by the Gardai once again walking down Grafton street in the capital, when its busy, and allowed to infect and assault people with total impunity, as they have had for months now.

Could anyone blame Doctor Martin Feeley if he called for the resignations of the HSE members of NPHET? Doctor Martin Feeley was forced to resign for speaking contrary to the HSE. Therefore, without hesitation, the HSE should be requesting the resignation of those members of NPHET employed by the HSE, for going against the HSE. Once Paul Reid denied what they said, they should have been gone. The same standards should apply to all.

You’d better hope herd immunity is possible - otherwise any vaccine will be useless.
You don’t need everyone to be immune, just enough of us to break and lower the transmission enough. That’s why the healthy young population should be mixing while we do everything we can to help at risk people safeguard themselves.
Herd immunity is the only exit strategy, with our without vaccine.
Thinking you’re doing your best for society by demanding low risk population be locked up is misguided.

    True!
Only way we're getting out of this is if the Virus circulates among the least affected by it, and the those in the vulnerable groups are given enhanced healthcare paid for by letting the economy open, all this level 3+ 4 and 5 is moving the economy between "Stagnant" and "Frozen" and soon "Off a cliff"

Vaccinate the vulnerable groups, test more, don't count flu deaths as covid and we'll be up and running in months...

We have the harshest "advice" in Europe. Our advice is so harsh it's scary. Madrid etc. is not advice. They enforce it. Bit of a difference.

    Ah get off the stage.

Pubs and indoor restaurants are closed, no matches can be played even behind closed doors, no five a side, gym classes shut down, weddings can only have 25 people.

This is not advice, this is real life enforced restrictions and as mentioned the harshest in Europe.

Looks like they'll get a nice, enjoyable summer. We might get that for 2022.

Dr. Feeley should be the CMO...

    Key point:
"But Mr Martin and his partners in Government, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Green Party leader Eamon Ryan, did not appreciate being backed into a corner by the chief medical officer (CMO) on his first day back in the job."

He quite clearly overstepped the mark.

He didn't overstep any mark for gods sake, they made a recommendation, which is their purpose.

Thinly veiled 'we should be like them' post. Seriously, how you don't get that we can't be like them at this stage is mind boggling.

I see thousands of bozos are organizing a "No Mask" march in Grafton Street at the weekend.
Seriously? These idiots should be up for manslaughter for superspreading the virus.

At level 3 matches in all sports can go ahead behind closed doors. The fact that the GAA have suspended their games is beside the point.

So we haven't even seen the recent surge in cases affect hospital figures yet and you can see there isn't much wiggle room.

Could be the schools either. We're not allowed to talk about that though apparently.

Why is Dublin levelling off if it's schools? That makes zero sense. Are schools in Dublin different?
