This is so true. Friend of mine and anther person I know off came home from Australia and Canada. My friend who is fully qualified nurse for years was put on administration work part time and the lady who came home from Canada who also a nurse never got called. She has returned to Canada.

I had a pain in my hoop listening to how great Jacinda Ardern was for ridding NZ of Covid. Guess what? It came back and they had to lock down Auckland again.

Think they have stamped it out again now.
I'm not getting into all the done to death reasons "we are not NZ" etc etc and I accept that, but overall they are in a better situation than we are IMO. Claiming they failed/wasted their time trying to eradicate Covid-19 is not correct.

Back in August my local opened under the guise of a restaurant. Now, it was far from that, but the Gardaí were fairly quick to go in and order it shut (and again when it opened a few days later). Is the legislation for pubs - assuming there is some - solely directed at them and can't be used for other businesses?

I'm posting this here as not sure where else to post and hopefully somebody has some idea of the procedure. A family member received notification that they were a positive case yesterday morning, the 27th, after developing symptoms last Thursday. The family doctor rang with the news and said that as we had been in contact with the individual last Tuesday for greater than 15 mins that we are a close contact. We have heard absolutely nothing from the HSE/contact tracing people and the confirmed case has yet to give them a list of people that may have affected as they haven't been contacted yet either.

We haven't been official advice so not sure where we stand. I presume we will have to be tested but when does the 14 days of isolation start for us, is it from the last time we were in contact with the individual, the day the test was performed on them or from yesterday when they received the results? My workplace are under the impression that I will be back to work next Tuesday as it will be 14 days since I was in contact with the individual

I ran my own business for 12 years logistics, purchasing projects etc. Offered to work as a tracer for free.
Got offered an interview last week for a swabber, I would literally pass out doing that medical I am not.

It’s from date of last contact.

I'm not saying they wasted their time. But it'll be back again in New Zealand. It's inevitable. And to stamp out a handful of cases, they'll need to lockdown again. How long do you keep doing that for? Years? Decades?

According to worldometers, they still have 59 active cases. Small but they haven't eradicated it.

Why all this media talk about Galway joining Dublin and Donegal in level 3? Things might get worse but Galway county a population of 260k had 142 cases in the last 2 weeks and as of 8pm last night had 1 person with Covid in hospital isn't the type of figures for level 3?

There's a few that don't make sense. Even yesterday Donnelly talking up the chances of wicklow going to level 3. Wicklows 14 day incidence reduced in the last week and is below national average

these politicians just like to pick a county or two to make it sound like they are balls deep in the figures every day.

    390 cases, no deaths.

Definite backlog from last week so, question is how big is it?

Just separate bray from wicklow and include bray in Dublin's level 3.

I believe Bray has half of wicklows cases on 1/5 of the population.

No harm in reinforcing the message tbh, might get some people to stop acting the bollocks.

    672 positive swabs last 48hrs

    820 reported cases last 48hrs

That adds up to 148 in backlog cases.

Quality reporting from Virgin Media News:

GLOBAL DEATH TOLL HEADING FOR ONE MILLION!!!!

No context at all provided by giving the global population of 7,800,000,000.

Trying to terrorise people. Utterly shameful.

My calculator won't even give me how small a percentage that is.

They were then out interviewing people in Bray and some auld wan says: I saw young people go into a house.

    That was it.
