I should not gave to say it again. It's the first instruction in the OP. Be civil, because if anyone starts attacking/commenting on other posters again do not be surprised if you lose posting privileges

This really annoyed me. Because I can't see anything wrong with what's in this video, yet 500 people seem to think this woman is correct in shaming people doing absolutely nothing wrong.

Nothing wrong with this. Do you expect peope to just dissappear into a hole. **** that.

The willpower to contain it back then? People had no option back then but to earn a living to provide for themselves and their family even if sick.
For several months here we had people stay at home recieving in many cases more than they worked for just to watch Netflix and order food online.

I'm not talking about your everyday man and woman, I'm talking about that of the political leaders of the age. The mass movement of the troops is what made the Spanish Flu a pandemic. That and the coverup. This excaebrated the spread. It was a symptomatic disease. Coronavirus is not so bit of an issue.

I think people like her mean well, but our public health people haven't done a good job of explaining the outdoor vs indoor tradeoffs, and where the majority of risk lies. Indoor environments with poor air circulation are the biggest risk - yet we have buses with all the windows closed, we've paid no attention to ventilation of schools, there's been barely a mention of the risks of dining indoors vs outdoors.

Seeing all these people dining outside is great - they're probably a little cold but have come prepared for the elements and are doing the right thing. The shocking video for me would have been if we saw people eating or drinking indoors. The risk of transmission of the virus outdoors appears to be very low (not impossible, just very low).

I thought S William Street was car free now to allow outdoor eating. Have I got that wrong or what.

Delighted to see this. There should be more of it.

Cork City is leading the way here. Have a look at how much pedestrianisation they have introduced in order to encourage outside meet ups. Kudos to them.

DCC are a disaster in comparison.

1 and 2 have been addressed many times to you which no surprise you still ignore. Now for number 3 you don't know me so less of the projecting your own beliefs on me.
I don't ignore anything, less of the projecting your own beliefs onto me.
You have outright said that schools should be open and when I bring up the possibility of kids getting seriously ill and dying you dismiss it. That says you don't care about a couple if kids bring badly affected by contracting Covid-19 in schools.

Also your hypocrisy is in show in this post where you claim I don't know yiybsi shouldn't make any assumptions about you but you are there pretty much calling another poster a liar for comments he made about a place he visited without knowing the person.

People might find this this info helpful. David Higgins has made tables for each county's Electoral Areas data.

An interesting read. The title makes it sound more negative than it actually is. When you read the whole thing it's actually more positive. The second time they were less sick and recovered much quicker. It seems to suggest they were less infectious too. That's actually a good thing.

There's an interesting article in today's IT by Naomi O'Leary and Derek Scally about contact tracing in Asia as compared with Europe. And how in Asia they investigate several days back from the infection report. This was what Philip Nolan, last week, called an "academic exercise" because we only investigate 48 hours back.

But, the experience in Asia (South Korea and Japan in particular) has been very successful and has found that small numbers of super-spreaders have been responsible for most infections and it was worth the effort to investigate back to find these sources.

I think we really dropped the ball in the early Summer when the curve was flattened. We had the chance to investigate outbreaks as they occurred back as far as necessary. Maybe if we are headed towards large scale lockdowns again, we might consider doing that for the third wave.

Look the first part of your post to me reads as pure hysteria.
As for the rest of it saying you don't know me well that is a fact not a claim, I know absolutely no one with a mindset like yours, now that's not an insult again just a fact.. Also I didn't call him a liar or alledge he was a liar. I asked him ( I assume it's a he) why would he not contact the business with his concerns instead of posting on a forum that he rarely sees ( his admission).

What have DCC introduced to the city to encourage outdoor dining and car free zones?

Not much AFAIS. Cars along Sth William Street, grand.

Idiots. It doesn't matter if it is cold. Plenty of Northern countries enjoy outdoor eating and drinking. Can't get the opposition to the same thing in Dublin for example.

There have been a few very interesting studies regarding BDE levels cancelling out MPW.

I think it's fair to conclude that the government (and others) are lacking the BDE levels to tackle this thing. If we could somehow increase BDE I'm confident there would be a turnaround before Christmas.

    Time will tell

    mpw
mpw is an acronym standing for the term "My Penis When" randomly used in some imageboards and irc channels, it shows a way to express yourself when your penis get shocked, impressed or in someway amused by any image, news or comments.

So she thinks we should be outraged, because people are out and about in a busy city? Would be nicer if someone wasn't driving around in their car, filming people.

I guess she hasn't seen what the place looks like when pubs and restaurants (not just outdoors) are open.

Do you have a source for this, I was thinking more so Cork, there wasn't any major amount for Galway yesterday although we did have 21 the day before. I suppose it could all change just like that with college season kicking off.

Well, I thought it was an interesting historical anecdote.

I didn’t know this, but it’s a bit pointless as Bubonic plague is not that contiguous amongst humans but they didn’t know this at the time.
