Will they close the pubs in donegal as well? I know it says "up to closure" on the level 3 plan.

That's a kick in the nads for those who only opened again Monday.

If they don't that's unfair on the Dub pubs still closed, I know it a capital city so bigger but why have a "levels plan" if differ in counties

What is the logic behind not having two different levels ?

Well if you had one county on 4, the majority of others on 3 and let's say a handful on 2, the level 2 counties would be seen as Barbados in the eyes of many. You'd have these counties flooded with people from other counties taking away from the whole point of it all.

Brilliant if true! I imagine you were correct earlier saying two levels only, to keep it simple, yet they continue to sprinkle rules everywhere ha!

Dublin North West still driving the numbers there and Dublin South still under national average
More interested in seeing the LEA figures for Dublin. I'm in North Central but, when broken down by LEA, it was a fair bit lower last week than most of the city.

UK records highest ever single day new coronavirus cases

6,634 new positive cases taking total to 416,363

Also 40 new deaths have been reported across the UK, increasing the total to 41,902

3 deaths is really not great, RIP

Looks like we will need further restrictions to protect peoples lives.

There is a lag with deaths remember, the increased numbers into hospital the last month is not promising.

Not a doom merchant, just realistic.

Does the recent CFR seem quite high?
Has anyone analysed that in recent times, as the improved testing should get a more accurate picture of the CFR?

so we've had two individual county determinations and neither of them fit the levels that were devised.

Bit ironic seeing as O'Leary is happy enough to use Brussels and Paris on airports miles away from either..

    Big ould backlog now

It's not quite 1:1 positive swabs -> cases, so we don't know for sure.

Sitting out in the wilds of West Donegal in the pissing rain and atlantic winds like a drowned rat having a pint

    Jaysus, that would be bliss.

Take it that might be people testing positive for the second time so? Would still only count as 1 case.

How many do we reckon are backlogged now?

Not too many people are going to be drinking outside in this weather so wet pubs are effectively closed.

It's amazing what discomforts people put up with. This morning I saw people eating full meals, with the rain drizzling down, at tables placed on the general footpath beyond contained areas of cafes in Churchtown. No shelter from the elements whatsoever, and with all human traffic brushing by.

Just need people to limit their social contacts and follow current guidelines. It's that simple and has been pointed out to us time and time again.
If/when more restrictions come in, it's going to be down to the fault of the public (not everyone, just those select few)
