Just a note on the data I've posted above - it seems there have been a considerable amount of community transmission cases that have now been linked to outbreaks.

196 new positive swabs. 14000 tests. Not bad!

That is a really good number compared to what we've seen in the last 2 weeks

It's really encouraging. Last few days have been stable. Let's hope for more of the same next week

Surely the elephant in the room is the schools.

When did they open up? When did our cases begin to surge?

Nobody in political life seems brave enough to call this out

That's a good way to show the changes week on week.
Just need to have a % increase compared to the previous week.
Should be able to see the 0-14 age range and see if that % ticks up, meaning schools could be spreading it.

If you think the schools should be closed indefinitely, please propose how our children can be educated and cared for while their parents work.

You can see that on the charts Nolan shows, the possible community transmission part looks like a big spike. The following week, you can see on that week, they have been mainly assigned to known clusters.

It would be interesting to see a more detailed breakdown of the clusters.

Eg, if I get it from somewhere unknown, I'm community transmission, but if the rest of my household get it from me within the following week, are we all then placed into one reassuring cluster?

My understanding you would be classed as community transmission and your family would be close contact of a confirmed case and you all would be classed as a household cluster.

If schools are driving cases even before they were opened, how come we can't see an noticeable spike in the % of cases in the 0-14 age range?
If they are driving cases, you would expect to see an increase in the % of cases in those age ranges.

So me getting and passing it on to my family could reduce the overall percentage of community transmission cases..

(Edit: not disagreeing with you that that's how it's done.)

    We don't test 0-14

We would need to mass test them like care home staff, hospital staff etc to see that % tick up

If we mass tested them we would be shocked :pac:

    1 million kids in school

If we tested all of them next Friday we would have 10,000 cases that day :)
