Tailed off where? Especially given that, as you acknowledge, more remain to be added to the tail. Iirc you said people looking at 7 day averages was silly, but now three days (even ignoring the incomplete data) indicates a tailing off?
What were you saying the other day about nobody downplaying the numbers?

What? Look at yesterday’s vs today. It adds to the last day.

50000 people have lost their jobs. Yes it is very very different.

    Your above response to:

"There were check points all over laois when the second lockdown was imposed, but sure, ra ra it’s all a different story when Dublin is affected."

makes it seem like you think that a much higher job loss in Dublin compared to Laois somehow negates the need for as many check points.

Was talking to a lad that works in Kepak watergrasshill. They’re doing serial testing every Friday!
    No cases been found.
Now they had a massive outbreak back in May/June, so all going well that factory is in the clear

Indeed, the magnitude of people in Dublin over Laois makes it crucial that they obey the restrictions for the next few weeks.......
doesn’t mean lockdown was any more palatable for people in Laois when they had the restrictions re- imposed, but again Dublin is special. Covid won’t care, it’ll rampage all over the place, and won’t care where you’re from. I think this is lost on some people

They should probably be testing the packaging!

I think I'm missing what you're trying to show. Are you saying it's tailed off because today's numbers are lower than yesterday's? A one-day trend?

I've just woken up, so be patient with me :P

Anyone know why the case coverage map on the Data Hub site has changed? Up until yesterday you could enter your eircode and see how many cases were near you, broken down to spots with case numbers.

    https://covid19ireland-geohive.hub.arcgis.com/

This morning the map has changed to just a colour code showing the rate per 100,000 for the entire Local Electoral Area.

I am sure there is a reason for the change, but why was it done?

It’s 100x better. Tells you cases per LEA in last 14 days.

I tend to disagree, my LEA is enormous because it’s rural, west Wicklow, so I see 6 cases for last 14 days but they could be anywhere from Blessington to Carnew which are 1.5 hours drive apart with several towns in between. The original one gave me far more information for my area.

Indeed as the whole country will suffer given the amount of transfers from Dublin. But NPHET giving misguided and misplaced advice will also have a massive effect elsewhere,

What you seem to be overlooking is that the alleged experts are not very expert abou this virus. Whenever any of them are asked questions about transmission, incubation, Immunity, reinfection, or anything else they invariably answer with maybe, could be, possibly could be. They have absolutely no idea how the disease is moving around the country citing “community transmission” as an excuse for not bothering their ar$ses to investigate how it’s being transmitted.

No, fortunately we are being advised by scientists and not randomers on the Internet. As it has not yet been scientifically proven how this virus behave they use words like maybe or could be. This is not at all the same as "not having any idea".

Investigation requires resources and the cooperation of people, neither of which are available in sufficient quantity.

The last one was cases since the beginning. The 14 day total is way way way better.

Latest cases chart by epi date. Seems to have tailed off a tad bit. More to be added to the tail obviously due to late reporting today and tomorrow.

Presumably the March/April figures are probably max 20% of the total.

I get what champagne Sally is saying, I'm in the other large rural Wicklow area and while its great to see less than 5 cases in 14 days. The previous model broke it down to a much smaller electoral area, albeit as you say a total since testing began. I perfer the new look but its just a shame some of the info has been diluted.

They claim only 5% is travel related, there was 516,000 passenger movements through Dublin airport in August alone 374,000 of those were to european destinations and countries like Spain, France and Italy have all have cases rising over the last month.

Its not difficult to work out, obviously when the they are trying to trace the sources they can only assume the information provided by members of the public is the truth.
