Was inevitable in Dublin anyway. So many feckers bending the rules.

So here we are once again, and the sun is shining just like in the lockdown back in the day. Bring on the lockdowns for a bit of sunshine says I.

Kind of odd she just died like that? Says it was not COVID 19 related even though she had it but what did she die of?

Not clear from the article, but I believe she died of a Thursday

Makes you wonder why they bother with something that is so utterly unenforceable

Think its deliberately phrased to make people think it's the law and will be happening. Put the frighteners on them!

We don't need pubs or restaurants or anything other than being able to see those we want to see within the numbers rules, but that can be worked around day by day.

We will have to get used to relevant confinement I think. But hey, let's see how it goes. Stay upbeat.

It doesn't have to be enforced for it to be effective.

From what I've read here I'm pretty sure I could talk my way through a garda checkpoint, but I won't.

What is it about Western Europe that is making it so susceptible to such rapid growth of the virus yet again. You would think that this time around it would be places like Norway, Germany, greece and Finland who had small outbreaks but it is just the exact same places again, France, spain, Uk, belgium, netherlands

That sort of sh1te largely worked in March, but they can't pull that stroke again.

The rules are that 1 household with a max of 6 people can visit another household.

But why do they separately allow people from up to 40 households hang out together?

Many people here don't care. End of. But that may not be the reason either, but it doesn't help either does it.

Exponential growth = 33% more cases per day than the previous day.

I realise this is petty, but I'm ok with that.

I just wanted to preserve it in a quote in case he deleted it

    *chefs kiss*

I think we just have to accept that he'll never be able to grasp it, and just move on with our lives.

This. its out in the community now. they can lock down whatever they want but theres no stopping it now.

    France with 13k cases today.
I guess the testing is not under pressure yet.

Let's see how this plays out in terms of clinical outcomes, but I would put my € on not good.

Where did that number come from if ya don’t mind me asking?
Are these permanent icu beds and rooms as opposed to something that might be close to an icu setup but just falls short?
The reason I ask is we are obviously borrowing billions at this stage but I’d like to imagine some of that money would go into permanent infrastructure. If not it’d be criminal!

Using private hospital facilities, recovery rooms as ICU , but still need to be staffed by ICU nurses and doctors so will be a stretch as they will all be in short supply at that stage .

Agree, just observe the rules, wear your mask and get on with your life as best you can and also looking out for others too.

    Yeah sure. Me too.

I think the argument is about people losing income from jobs or business.

It's a really tough one, but I can understand the necessity.

People are just not adhering to advice.
I have contact with one friend, outdoors, my parents, my partner, that is it. Since March.

No point in blaming the government really.
People are carrying on as if there is no health crisis.

In fairness if all the modelers knew what they now about the virus back in feb/march the models would be completely different.

I'm sorry but the lives of millions of people in this country have been, and are continuing to be, greatly affected by these modellers number.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Why is the govt so obsessive about keeping schools open? Dozens of kids crammed in small rooms and moving from room to room for every subject? Half of the kids not wearing any face coverings. And all kids not following social distancing and not taking any special care about what they touch etc. Is there any sense in this?? How did the policy makers become so illogical and insensitive?

    Well,

Kids are safe with the virus

Seems that kids are not big spreaders of the virus

    Important to have kids education

And we need to see how we can live.

Isn't it more about tools in charge weren't able to come up with some more stable plan, with some backup plan if the mighty fùck them all in and let's see what happens plan fails.

We don't want a generation of duds on our hands, the implications of no school for a long period will be terrible.
