Fair enough, but if we all stayed home with the odd cough and no other symptoms a lot of work places would be empty.

    But that's the advice given

I don't know but I'd be sure a Govt minister takes priority over other tests and jumps the queue.
If he's done in a hospital lab it'll be back within 24 hours. Contact tracing though ...

Nothing stopping the her bar the lack of seats her party has in the Dail. :)

Morbid obesity also affects fine motor skills and general mental ability

He absolutely should jump the queue. He has important work to do. Much more important than anyone on here

Agree, the same as I agree with Boris Johnson getting 2 ICU nurses instead of the standard one.

People in strategy and key decision making roles should be prioritised even if they are daft.

Please tell me it was Pat Kenny, sooner that Mugabe gets off the air the better.

Come on that's not nice. I've no time for Kenny but I wouldn't wish this virus on anyone.

Its still a very serious illness.

I bet Donnellys test result will take days. This is all a stunt so they don't have to answer to anyone. And most on here are falling for it.

To be fair, I've had cold and flu symptoms suddenly develop during a day when I felt fine just a couple of hours beforehand. It's not inconceivable that Donelley felt okay earlier. It can happen.

Ah but to get to the press conference , coughing , is funny , you have to admit ?

I just want him to get a little dose, so he'll calm down a bit.

Few of the numbers for today like waterford on gov.ie are not the same as the ones reported in the briefing. Was reported in briefing as 8 now its 7

To an extent, but we don't know the full story. I think the reaction to it is a bit OTT.

So I make it Dublin accounting for 61 % of the cases announced today. And explain to me again how Dublin is level 2 again ? I don’t care what county it is in the country if it needs to go into lockdown it needs to be be in lock down. It worked for Kildare, Offaly, and Laois.

Anyone who cannot see that we are heading in the wrong direction have their head in the sand. Hospital and ICU admissions rising and it's only September. If cases keep rising at this rate where will we be in Nov/Dec??Absolutely nothing positive about today's numbers.

I wouldn’t be so quick. They have employed a new PR company. This along with biggest numbers since May. It’s a stretch to say this is conspiracy theory stuff.

So all of Europe is together in this plan is it?
We opened up and the virus grew again

It’s not PR, it’s not spin.

You give the government too much credit

357 new cases today with 218 of them in Dublin? What the holy fcuk are the Dubs doing? Are they neglecting social distancing and mask wearing etc? 139 for the rest of the country. I know Dublin is more populated and they are all on top of each other and there's more in the city and there just more happening in Dublin.

It's a lot of new cases all around.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it is a fact that there's always high numbers the day of these big announcements

I've a friend who's married to a nurse, she said at least half the cases are people with sprained legs but are put down as covid, nothing to worry about...

I think you are a little joker, Oranage.

You are probably correct. But doubt is legitimate.
