Dublin should be moved to level 4 immediately

It can't unless the rest of the country is moved up to Level 3 as there can not be more than 1 level between counties.

    Wexford is interesting

Overan with Dublin people for months and very low cases
Outdoors activities, people going back to their holiday homes and not mixing indoors I'd say. Outdoors is so much safer than indoors.

    Holy sh1t

218 in Dublin and on the same level as Donegal or Mayo is a farce.

Dublin should be level 42, high red alert

It did a few minutes ago. Saw it myself and was on the ticker on the channel. They must have realised their mistake

    ICU still perfectly fine.

I'm as much against lockdown etc as anyone but the way our health system crashes from Oct-Feb we will be in awful bother with an excess of even 50 in ICU due to covid.

Who gets priority at that stage?

Do HSE still publish the combination of non covid and covid Icu totals?

What have schools got to do with anything? There's no outbreaks in schools

No outbreaks but it could well be facilitating spread through asymptomatic transmission. Moot discussion anyway as they have to stay open.

They have about 2-3 weeks to pull out of this, or we are going to start putting down some fairly high numbers.

Rte 1 Boucher Hayes saying cabinet is to self isolate for 1 week after Stephen Donnelly test .

Why one week, surely if the test is negative they can return, and if it’s positive it should be two weeks?

On a related note, who is the favourite to be the first minister caught breaking the quarantine? I think it’s pretty much guaranteed that some eejet will

I'm sure he can pull a string or two. They don't take that long if your swab is brought straight to a lab with priority.

Hysteria. Have you ever been on Facebook? Believe it or not, a lot of people in Ireland use Facebook.

    Not a fan:)

But nothing to do with any statement by anyone here that cases are cropping up anymore than any statement saying they are not being traced back to the classroom .

Good to see their are acting responsibly. Donnelly showing up today while having Covid symptoms is probably worse than Dominic Cummings actions a few months ago.

I just said this on another thread, the one dedicated to the cabinet having to isolate, but what's crazy to me about this is- this was not a scenario nobody ever envisaged! The last government spent months trying to prevent this very thing from happening by meeting in groups divided into two, never all together, just so they WOULDN'T all be taken out at once like this. Leo and Simon C were almost never in the same room from mid March until sometime in June so they were giving themselves every chance of the two never being taken out at the same time, and so the Tanaiste would be able to take over from the Taoiseach if he got sick or had to self-isolate. In fact, I think my very first post on here was about that, explaining to someone what they were doing who was wondering why Simon was suddenly never at press conferences with Leo anymore. They KNEW this could happen!

He must be positive. The Govt would have done everything to avoid this much egg on their face.

It makes them look even more out of sorts considering how the day has gone.

He only felt unwell during press conference, may not have had any symptoms beforehand, lynch mob stand down.

I heard him this morning on the radio and I said to someone in work he sounds like he's coughing a good bit.

    That was 920am
