In that case I hope you are ready for more extended restrictions because if this type of disgraceful selfish behaviour continues that is exactly what will happen. Let`s hope that you or any of your buddies or family members don`t need to be admitted to hospital or worse a a result of your "session".

I’ve been out every weekend since March bar one or two. People are living their lives. Deaths are currently tiny from this bug. Get our from under the bed. Was looking forward to a pub crawl next week with the pubs opening. It’ll be a trip down the country for it now.

Do you sit at home foaming at the mouth most days? Or is it just today?

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

Apparently Donnelly was unwell today and is now getting sent for a Covid test...

Imagine the health minister going to work sick during a pandemic and then standing next to the CMO, Taoiseach and Tanaiste.

I suppose a source for this claim is too much to ask for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,740 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

I'm hoping that isn't true on Donnelly.

He has had a bad few weeks.

But if he went to work not feeling well , he basically has broken every piece of advice we have been given for 6 months.

Nope. Only when responding to moronic posts. Unfortunately they seem to be increasing of late.

Sure it is pal. Just like the anti water charges "no way we won`t pay" brigade yeah?

IT news alert and on Newstalk just now. Entire Cabinet self isolating and Dail adjourned until probably next week.

Is your finger not getting tired from all the wagging today?

Why don't you go back into your fear-cave for a nice lie down and Dr Ro-Ro will tell you when it's safe to come back out I'm sure.

The rest of us can go on living our lives.

    Win-Win.

Why don`t you **** off back to Italy or wherever the **** you were last month hopefully on a permanent basis and stop endangering Irish people`s lives with your absolutely disgraceful selfish behaviour. As an added bonus you and your string pullers would be able to find a whole new set of authority figures to direct your regurgitated hysterical agenda driven rants at. Definitely win-win for all concerned.

Unbelievable. This new government really is a circus.

Not sure you’ll be around here for much longer with that kind of aggression.

Not really. They are allowing all EU wide travel inwards and outwards without restrictions. Pubs are open etc.

And most importantly this was all in place while we were locking up our young and healthy population for months and telling them not to go outside.

That’s the reason we are getting increasing cases and they are getting decreasing ones.

And if you think they are better than us then why did they let the virus into the nursing homes just like ourselves?

Their death rates are almost identical to ours given their demographics (They have a more elderly population than us). So what exactly have we achieved with our lockdowns and now stupid pedantic rules?

Unbelievable. This new government really is a circus.

Do we know he came to work with symptoms or did he just develop symptoms and then raise the alarm?

Sounds like he did the right thing once he realised he had symptoms? https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/2020/0915/1165384-cabinet-isolation-covid/

Who knows. Hopefully it's not covid anyway. This will be a regular occurrence now due to flu season. Where I work we had nobody self isolating for the last few months and since the schools have opened multiple people have had to self isolate and wait for a test result.

Yes OK. I have seen this just now. Seeing as how you have posted this what is your opinion about this development?

Not sure you’ll be around here for much longer with that kind of aggression.

Is it only aggression when it doesn`t suit your cohort`s agenda though and not aggression when someone like the poster I responded to does precisely the same thing and on a prolonged basis at that?

I can understand it. Do you not find it frustrating to read such ignorance after all we've been though and learned? It's like some people are immune to facts and reason. Or they can't cope with the current situation so they conjure up some fantasy where the restrictions are the source of all woes and if only they were gotten rid of all would be fine and dandy.

So we are all at level 2. Level 1 is even depressing. No end in sight. This can't go on like this forever. This isn't living with the virus. It's way more than that now with these same restrictions for next 6 months.

If I had to self isolate for two weeks, work would say no problem but you ain’t getting paid. This lot of clueless morons in the Dáil can do what they want and are answerable to no one.

These new restrictions are laughable. You couldn’t go to a GAA match at all months ago when cases were low now 200 can go when we have 200 cases per day.

We are such a cowardly nation, afraid to step out of line for fear of being labelled a freak like those protestors in Dublin.

Not a hope of any civil disobedience, we’ll just take it.

I won’t be adhering to any of these stupid rules where I can. I’ll have who the fcuk I want in my own house and no one will tell me different.

For the first time in my life, I’m ashamed to be Irish.

Or lock up everyone that's over 60, overweight, has asthma, high blood pressure, has diabetes etc sure that's only about half the population right? be grand!

It seems to me as a simple layman that the stricter the lockdown the more cases are going to skyrocket when things start getting back to normal. Spain had an OTT lockdown, now cases have skyrocket, France ditto, Ireland had very high compliance during lockdown so ditto for us

    It's like prohibition on drugs.

Hasn't worked, has actually made things worse, but keep ploughing ahead, no point admitting we're wrong.

And now with this covid crap, we failed to suppress it after months of sacrifice, but this time will be different, right?

You must have missed the massive drop in cases a few weeks after we went into lockdown back in spring?

No, I do follow the news.

What happened after the initial lockdown was eased?

    Cases shot up again.

And it'll happen again as we ease things.

But let's keep ruining people's lives....
