So what exactly is the extra 0.5 of restrictions on Dublin? No wet pubs opening on the 21st, but what else? Travel restrictions, reduced house visits? Restaurant/pub restrictions?

Pubs and reduced house hold visits thats about it

    This is laughable?

Level one allows only 3 households to visit another?

    So best case scenario.

Did anybody even think about this?

In fairness these restrictions are unenforceable. Some will obey but many won't.

    Level 2 & a bit for Dublin...

    Excellent clarity

Martin is right. There is a fantastic Irish spirit............it’s called Jameson. Unfortunately we can’t go into a pub to drink it.

Key takeaway here is if you're ever in a situation where you may need to hire a PR firm, you probably shouldn't consider the lads they hired for this.

Why do you hate masks so much? There's a thread for it anyway.

More proof they are here to stay. Even post Covid, we will be told they protect from spreading disease etc.

Which is, and always has been true.

Genuinely insane. Can't have 4 mates over for dinner, against the rules for 6-9 months. Unless they're from the same household - sorry not everyone is settled down in their 40s.

Leo staying very quiet. He knows it's a farce.

There hasn't been any question directed to him. I would think it'd be considered disrespectful to interrupt unless Martin asked him???

I would wager MM and Donnelly have gone through several increasingly frustrated PR companies who realised they had no hope in getting through to them.

They should have just put Dublin on Level 2 and said they will review its status over the coming days.

They will be ridiculed (and rightly so) for the level 2.5 announcement. It is far too gray-area to get people's understanding and buy-in.

I'm struggling to see how the slight difference in measures for Dublin are going to have any significant impact on driving the case figures down. For most people there will be very little change so in 2 or 3 weeks will we looking at 500 or 600 cases a day? Why not act now?

I cant see that this is going to make any difference at all, i work with the general public in a public area and the vast majority of people have given up on social distancing, even using the hand gel is becoming less and less and not many places even enforce it now. Plus loads of shops dont bother with qs now so basically if you rock up at any time you get in. Is the government just laying out all this level talk and then in a few weeks just lockdown the country anyway..

how do you get to level 1?

So we went from a four stage plan, to a colour coded plan, to a 5 framework plan but there's still no actual plan. This stinks on a Monday morning middle-management team meeting.
