They don't actually give the total positive tests in a 24 hour period, you have to figure it out yourself by calculating the change in the Total Positive Tests each day.

Like it or not. Locking down Dublin is a completely different thing than locking down a regional county.

The rates are rising but are not so out of quilter with rest of country and today's 180 number is a reporting quirk.

Nonetheless some additional measures will likely be implemented but I would not expect anything drastic.

You can walk in to establishments so long as they have a table, just give the contact details. Not exactly fair to say to be reputable and safe you have to have a booking.

Lots of places with capacity, the city is still generally quiet.

Ah lad, there's not a tsunami of cases, we never had a tsunami of cases. I don't think we even had a day with 1000+ cases. You'll give nervous people a heart attack!

There's steady cases with some growth in the average here and there. We're not France or Spain racking up thousands of cases a day or anything yet.

I dont think anyone is campaigning to build a wall around the pale, just that Dublin specific restrictions aren't out of the realm of possibility.

Closing bars, restaurants, cinemas, enforcing masks on public transport and shops, delaying opening the pubs. All for a few weeks.

Suggesting that the economy "would not survive" is hyperbole.
Restrictions are put in place to prevent deaths, so to say that there are just none occurring right now is short sighted.

Dublin is the outlier, you need to close it down,

I don't think you'd get anywhere near the compliance that there was back in March and April of this year.

Dublin has the busiest airport, train stations, hospitals, city centre etc.

I'm not sure closing restaurants and/or retail would even bring numbers down that much.

Over 14 days they are in in the 50s per 100,000.

Last tuesday included a backlog as well. I'd say if you go back 10 days, both figures are pretty much the same.

The 'give it two weeks brigade' have been quiet for a while now. ICU has been amazingly stable.

Very few cases are as a result of any of these places. Closing them would have limited impact.

Also masks are already enforced on public transport and shops, High levels of compliance from what I've seen

I was calling a lockdown in Carlow weeks ago, if you didn’t notice. Limerick’s numbers per 100,000 are virtually the same as Dublin. If one goes, the other will too.
