Oh my God,Mayo GAA TV, WHAT UTTER TRIPE:2,500 paid viewers = €12,500 euro,is it any wonder the guest panellists are on here as opposed to joining Midwest!!!
Shocking coverage, lost it 3 minutes into the 2nd half.

    This is bloody woeful.

I've watched lots of club games streamed for free by clubs and they all went off without a hitch in the vast majority of cases.

    Multicast is hard
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multicast

The difference being clubs are using social media streams which are well setup to do multicast. This crowd are not setup well enough to do it and look like they're not capable of it.

I'd expect it to be given automatically but I'll send 1 anyway

Apologies to anyone who had issues with tonight's stream. The company who were carrying out the streaming were unable to broadcast the second half. Refunds will be issued.

Personally I dont care about losing a fiver but it's the principle of it. Great to see them hold their hands up and issue refunds. Kerry had the same streaming issues last weekend and just came out with a load of guff

    2nd week in a row.

the ones getting a raw deal is the club plus season tickets holders. given free access to the streaming service as alternative to a refund on the season tickets. the streaming service is **** and we don't get a refund.

I'm not that well informed I'll be honest. I only bought this game as I play with a Breaffy man here in Meath and a bunch of us wanted to watch his home club. Tis a shìte deal if this happens regularly and you're almost paying twice by not getting season tickets refunded

    Fair play to them.

TBH I'm more disappointed I didn't see the second half.

Yeah I'm the same. Was a decent first half and was looking forward to it. Made my cup of tea and came back to a blank screen lol

You would get as good with someone streaming it live on Facebook from their phone.

Whats the actual set up does anyone know? Mayo GAA own the rights obv, do they sell them to an outside Co or are they in partnership with said streaming company  or what?

“Apologies again to those who had issues with tonight’s stream. We will be streaming both of tomorrow’s games free of charge to make up for this. Anyone who has already purchased a ticket for tomorrow’s matches will be refunded in the comings days”
Latest statement from Mayo GAA. In fairness that’s a good gesture but if the service provider isn’t able to cope will it not result in the same issues tomorrow?

How could it not be better than a blank screen?

Probably, but at least you won't have paid for it. I'd say the CB have the foresight to know there's a strong chance it will happen tomorrow, so save themselves the hassle and bad PR by making it free. Right thing to do.
