Lol, no it wasn’t, the post was the truth tbh. I wasn’t the only poster who thought the same.

They're as close to normality as anywhere in the world.

They're not living with a sword of Damocles hanging over their head like they are here. Ireland has become a country of curtain twitching neurotics. Preoccupied with daily cases and calling out people who aren't wearing filthy cloth masks properly.

Sweden are getting on with life, working, socialising etc.

Indeed so is most of Europe. I am in England and life is pretty much back to normal not that it changed that much anyway TBH.

I have socialised in the pub, eaten out, stayed in a hotel, gone to a restaurant, gone to garden centres, gym, cafes etc for the last 5-6 weeks now. Son went back to school today and daughter starts primary next week.

    89 cases, 1 death unfortunately.

    NI or ROI?

Where would you rather live now? Relatively normality in Sweden or state of emergency Australia with no end in sight? Pregnant women arrested for in front of her kids for creating a facebook page. Pure madness.

Melbourne maybe, the rest of Australia has less restrictions than Ireland and less cases.

NSW (Pop 7.5m) for example has had 82 cases in the last week, has had 3 deaths since May 22 ...schools never closed and everything is open including pubs.

In line with the 90 positive swabs reported yesterday

People need to keep in perspective that death rates are not rising which is quite distinct from C19 positives.

We are never going to get a 0% rate with all the testing going on so let's just get on with it.

Maybe because I have been more exposed (I know plenty of people who have had it and some with zero sickness) to it in the England that I am more matter of fact about it. All the deaths have been over 70 with severe underlying conditions.

Too many people in Ireland crapping their pants unnecessarily at the sound of a positive result.

Impressive, huh? Is this praise for that country or a dig at how badly she thinks where she is had done? Seriously though how useful is this kind of information in the context of anything COVID, apart from for people in Vietnam?

It's pleasing to read that another communist regime has battled the virus so valiantly , they join the ranks of China and North Korea in their success.

It's really not individual results, it's the cumulative trend and how it affects our ability to begin to function again as a country and an economy.

You seem to be implying that how other countries are handling COVID isn't relevant, in a thread about COVID?

Of course he hasn’t, the poster just trawls through the net and twitter all day for misery and then copies and pastes it.

Your idea of misery but many others idea of intelligent information. I'm glad someone is shuffling through all the ****e out there and sharing interesting, relevant posts. It not fitting your view on things doesn't deem it misery, you're obviously just easily led to misery from external sources and may lack the emotional maturity to process feelings.

Where's that info from? Do they not announce at 5.30 every day still?

The ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) might disagree with you just saying.

Swiss pharma giant Roche have announced they will roll out the first 40 million instant (15 minutes) test kits later this month. No lab involvement required and they say its very accurate and works on symptomatic AND asymptomatic. If true will certainly be a game changer.

We are not Vietnam nor anything like it, they apparently have beaten COVID , eh twice so far and will like everyone else have more cases. So less impressive than it looks, not terribly useful to the rest of us but good for them. Even the other gold star contenders in Asia have had their issues.

Well yes and no. We are not really looking at how other countries are managing- we are just obsessing over numbers.

We are like the student at school obsessing about everyone elses results when we should be minding our own house.

Any idea of the age of the person that died, under 45 or over?

So did the two schools that informed parents go against HSE diktat that they can't inform parents? One to watch.
I think every parent has a right to know if there has been a case in their class.

If you are claiming that the posts Micky32 is referring to are not misery personified it is you that is easily led to be honest. There is a few posters on this thread who have made it their mission to find the most obsure and misery inducing crap possible.

That doesn't come with the beer delivery. You'll have to wait till the official figures later.

They've already clarified that they're not locking down Dublin so I wasn't expecting anything urgent tbh.

CCP aside, in what sense is the country a communist one?

    Vietnam isn't either, btw

A crass response prehaps but I'm going to guess well in excess of 45.
    RIP.
