The bottom line is, too many people are not taking this virus seriously. There is constant rebellion, denial, and not abiding by the handwashing, social distancing, and mask wearing guidelines. Then we have reference to "fraudulent" numbers of cases.
I see people carrying on carelessly everyone I go to shops in local towns and villages, granted they are a minority, but quite a large one.

Less every day, when were being constantly lied to it's hard to take them seriously. There's feck all fact checking going on by the media. Then they come out and say today we might be allowed have more than 6 people in the house by xmas. Like seriously wtf.

Pubs have been targeted by the government. Absolutely no showdown boxing!! It’s blatantly obvious The Anti Alcohol Lobby is going to get what they want. Rural pubs will close, minimum unit pricing will be brought in and all alcohol will behind a curtain. Irish version of shira law

I am 65 years old and I have never experienced the dangers of any other virus in my lifetime to date like this one.

Fraudulent reporting of numbers will not help, it will lead to 'the boy who cried wolf' situation. The fact that the most of the number of cases they reported for today were not from today is Fraudulent, transparency is what people want.

Cholesterol level is controllable for the vast majority of people. This complication due to Covid 19 is not.

"A German study found that 78 percent of recovered COVID-19 patients, the majority of whom had only mild to moderate symptoms, demonstrated cardiac involvement more than two months after their initial diagnoses. Six in 10 were found to have persistent myocardial inflammation. While emphasizing that individual patients need not be nervous, lead investigator Elike Nagel added in an e-mail, “My personal take is that COVID will increase the incidence of heart failure over the next decades.”

Judge teams on their actions. American College sports are not resuming for a reason. Their have been worrying complications due to this virus to healthy elite athletes. This could be much worse in the next few mths if the virus transmits at a much greater level. The denial about how serious this virus is strange and irrational at this stage. Obviously post lockdown fatigue is affecting people's judgement on the seriousness of this virus

Doesn’t matter. It maybe controllable but a lot of people still drop dead, isn’t it Irelands biggest killer or near enough to it?. More people will die from heart disease than covid related heart problems, so quit your hysteria boloxogy.

Btw i take this virus seriously, i take every precaution etc i even wear masks and have worked with the public throughout the whole thing and know how to protect myself and i never caught it. I’m just calling out the misery merchants who constantly trawl the net for the worst headline or twitter tweet they can find and post the same thing about a 1000 times in the thread.

What was it 9 suicides in Galway this July. This crazy train needs to stop. Let's see them print what people are dying of besides covid.

    Who "they"

The governments of the Western world who are acting in lockstep with one another. Not surprising when this pandemic was predicted a tee in 'Lockstep' in the Rockefeller Report. Not a conspiracy theory. The report is available online for people to read.

When I say they're acting in lockstep with one another, I'm referring to the threat of second lockdowns from different countries all at the same time.

What about the UK reducing its death number by 10%? Ireland reducing its death count by a third (I think)? Cases of people in the US who weren't tested but who were told they had the virus?

At this stage, to not be deeply suspicious is strange.

I'm obviously not just referring to Chinese and Thai takeaways. There is a war on cash.

Not taking it seriously, this horse**** annoys me, everywhere you go 99% of people are wearing masks, people are terrified to go within 2 metres of someone, people dancing on the street and it makes national headlines. 17% unemployment, nobody allowed to go to matches or concerts or any outdoor event and you think people are not taking if seriously. If you feel that bad stay home and watch Netflix until next year, how hard can it be.

20 suicides for Galway in August is the rumour, unfortunately reporting it leads to more suicides, it has been proven time and time again hearing about it gives more people dark thoughts.

Cillian "I might let you celebrate Xmas" de Gascon on the tonight show.

    Nice positive discussion.
    Are more lockdowns inevitable?
Will 2/3rds of pubs close for good?

Let's see does Matt Cooper call out the fudged numbers today.

We didnt reduce our death count by one third.

Are you mixing it up with excess mortality?

Yeah I understand pubs wanted it but it’s obvious The Anti Alcohol Lobby have taken the opportunity to push harder once all this kicked off. The virus doesn’t effect you if you eat a pizza but it will if you have 3 pints and no food. It’s all total f**king bollox!
Ive heard enough of the ****e being spouted about clusters from bars in other countries.
Sick s**t of the nanny state we’re now living in. Older people not going outside still because they’re too afraid too because we’ve constant negative headlines drilled into us every f**king day by all the media! You’ve prime time leading tonight that we had 217 cases in one day! That was wrong, nice backlog figure to have on a Tuesday, seems like we’re going back to high numbers on certain days ie Tuesdays!!
How did they all of a sudden come to the conclusion Kildare was good to go yesterday?? They improved that much in 48 hours? Total horsesh**!!
That muppet Donnelly harping on about another lockdown is nonsense, all the wannabe superstar scientists just want to stay relevant even though they know the s**t will hit the fan if even a hint of new nationwide restrictions are mentioned. People will not stand for this. I’ve seen a few posts here saying we won’t tolerate having to have a summer like this next year. I 100% agree.
This Christmas will be one to forget. We’ve overcounted deaths so we could be the poster boys but it’s the HSE and HIQAs fault for the embarrassment that occurred in our nursing homes!! And dare I say it the previous CMO’s for letting visitors continue visiting whilst this all kicked off!
For the sake of a lot of people’s mental health, health(other then Covid) livelihoods and businesses the country will face excess mortality and I’ve said it before it won’t be the virus that causes this horror show that could be upon us.
    Rant over!

Cillain being honest about numbers. Weekend effect, a far cry from the hysterical media response to the numbers.

A number of important facts about death have emerged from this crisis:-
    1. Everybody will die eventually from something.
    2. The older you are, the more likely you are to die.
    3. Covid will cause some deaths.
    4. You are many many times more likely to die from something other than Covid no matter how old you are.
    5. If you are under 70 you are extremely unlikely to die from Covid.

These facts are obvious to most rational people but some are behaving as if we are all going to die imminently from this ‘deadly’ disease. It just one of the many things that might possibly make us sick or cause our death eventually but we will all most likely die from something else.

    https://theweek.com/speedreads/935157/fauci-shoots-down-false-claim-only-6-percent-coronavirus-deaths-are-legitimate-are-real-deaths-from-covid19

Fauci made it clear Tuesday morning that the information Trump was touting wasn't exactly accurate. "The point that the CDC was trying to make was that a certain percentage" of people who died "had nothing else but just COVID," the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease said. "That does not mean that someone who has hypertension or diabetes who dies of COVID didn't die of COVID-19. They did," he continued.
"So the numbers you've been hearing, the 180,000-plus deaths, are real deaths from COVID-19," Fauci decisively said. "Let there not be any confusion about that."
