Updated County by county figures from David W Higgins

The cases per 100,000 population are interesting

Was driving home from work and fancied a Thai take away. My phone had just died and I had no charger. Said I’d drop in and order when I got to the village. When I got there I realized it was only order by phone/online only and collect.

FFS, I can’t believe this nonsense is still going on. I’d have to go in to collect the food anyway. Could they not let people in to order, but wait outside until your order is ready. This is a well-known chain of Thai takeaway.

I know Argos is also the same (pre-order only), but surely they’re certainly a business model that lends itself well to social distancing.

Are other counties like this when it comes to retail settings?

a large area of Scotland including Glasgow are back under restrictions again after 66 new cases were discovered in the region today

how many did Dublin have today?

Just because they did it doesn't mean we should. No deaths in 10 days...

We had way more, but not 10600 more than today's case numbers.

You just don't get a one day peak at 11,000 odd cases, that would plateau for a week or 2.

Even at our peak we had a negativity test rate of 83%.

You don't know. I don't know. I have played around on paper with numbers. There is no way to fit in the seroprevalence without very high numbers over a certain short period of time in the so called wave we already passed through. Because viral waves peak.

    Eg of a numbers game

    30 30 30 30 30 30

Make 200000 fit into that distribution but taper at both ends...say..

    200 400 ? ? 400 200

Right now you are at 36000.

That is with every single day of those 30 having those numbers.

    So now do this...

    200 400 2000 4000 400 200

Now you are at about 200000.
Every single day @ 4000 for a month. But it did not happen like that. There was a peak. It could easily gave been 10000 for a day or so with 4% seroprevalence.

If you dont like 200000 go for 100000 which I think is low estimation of 2% infection.

    30 30 30 30 30 30
    100 200 1000 2000 200 100

That would need a solid sustained month at 2000 cases a day and another at 1000. It peaked so it was not sustained that way.

    Now I sleep!!

It's called corporate responsibility, no business wants to be associated with an outbreak / cluster.

They also have a duty of care to their staff, who would have high contact numbers given the nature of their job. Limiting these necessary contacts is good practice.

Also their is a percentage gauge on your phone, keep the fúcking thing charged and stop ranting and raving about your first world problems.

Symptoms without symptoms? The whole article is a complete contradiction of itself.

If you say so. Care to read it? It’s not it’s a good summary of the research to date. Plenty of different studies now. Have a read.
This is an incredibly tricky diagnosis. Patients with myocarditis often experience symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, fever and fatigue—while some have no symptoms at all.

Covid app is draining batteries faster than they can be charged

The reason it's all online is because they want a cashless society.

It's not. There was an issue on the Android side, not affecting all phones with it installed anyway, and it's long resolved now.

    Fraudulent eh.

Yea, prime time knows the reason behind todays large number, it was underreporting of the numbers on the previous days

    Fraudulent eh.

Everyone that has been following this thread knew that the numbers were being kept down the last couple of days, if anything todays numbers are slightly down.

It's lies, it's TV programming, Enough is Enough, media should be taken out and shot for what there doing to the country.

The only obvious reason for this misreporting was that they wanted to open Kildare, the last time it happened to this scale it was to announce new restrictions with a big number of cases, ff are trying to fool the people and I am not totally anti ff, but since they were in power this time the handling of this has been a disgrace.

The Skibereen Eagle is continually monitoring the situation in Russia, as they have been doing for years.

The bottom line is, too many people are not taking this virus seriously. There is constant rebellion, denial, and not abiding by the handwashing, social distancing, and mask wearing guidelines. Then we have reference to "fraudulent" numbers of cases.
I see people carrying on carelessly everytime I go to shops in local towns and villages, granted they are a minority, but quite a large one.
I am 65 years old and I have never experienced the dangers of any other virus in my lifetime to date like this one.
