So if 51% are 'known clusters and close contacts', call that 110, 19 are community transmission, 88 are clearly foreign travel associated unless I'm missing some fourth possible source??

Why don't they announce it accordingly I wonder?

Shh you'll give the game away and people will start figuring out why we really can't go to matches and have to wear the mask getting milk.

I was thinking the same, but even stranger is there are 217 new cases, 103 are in men, and 113 are women, giving a total of 216, so the remaining case is non human?:confused:

Just means they haven't been investigated by the time the press release is put together, nothing else

I doubt that as if 88 hadn't been investigated they couldn't announce the other two figures. Could be 19 community transmission could be over 100.

They do it because they don't want the absolute correct criticism of their foreign travel policies being made an issue,

f ucking hell. That's some high number today. It's only going to go up from here on in. Or well, it will be a sea-saw in figures, dropping and going up.

I suppose the next group of people for the exposures will be grandparents. There will be a lot of yumi mummies feeling hard done by, by their kids, and after the first week back to school they will feel entitled for weekends away up the country. Their kids will turn into someone else's responsibility.

These bus studies stick in my mind. There was one near the beginning and now this one. 1 third of the bus infected on a 50 minute 2 bus journey by someone who had no symptoms.

f ucking hell.

Do these kids not have fathers?

These bus studies stick in my mind. There was one near the beginning and now this one. 1 third of the bus infected on a 50 minute 2 bus journey by someone who had no symptoms.

Have there been any similar studies about planes? It seems there are surprisingly few recorded incidents of clusters around air travel. Maybe it actually is safer due to the type of air systems used?

Often times , no. Be that either absent father or daddy in work 12 hours a day.

Just means they haven't been investigated by the time the press release is put together, nothing else

I remember you used to post your usual daily updates ACE, and I’m quite sure along with healthcare workers and close contacts, etc. there was always a heading for travel related cases. Was that removed at some stage from the source where you got that info?

I wouldn’t be so sure asymptomatic means no long term damage.

Not surprised by today’s figures, I know 3 families local who’s teenagers have come from holidays in Greece and now have Covid , two had no symptoms and continued with football training and working ,only got tested when a friend was confirmed positive. Most members of the households have gotten it.
So out of 3 teenagers who returned from Greece it has turned into a 3 separate clusters with some contacts still to be tested. Big numbers returning from Greece over the weekend.

Will there be the usual trips abroad for doing well in the leaving, dont parents fund these as a way to get their kids to get high points....if they cant party here wouldnt they be tempted to fly off and do it elsewhere.

Covid ‘can’ cause a Total Eclipse of the Heart too apparently.

It should be noted that there's mass swabbing starting up again as of last week which is possibly why we're seeing higher cases in the daily figures.

The swabbing lulled off a bit over the end of June and July after all the nursing homes and places were swabbed.

Last week though there's been mass operations involved all food processing plants and other places.

I was involved in swabbing one factory over last week, we did over 500 swabs by lunch time. And there's dozens more factories to be done.

Do you have any peer reviewed reports to say that Covid does not affect the heart?

I doubt that as if 88 hadn't been investigated they couldn't announce the other two figures. Could be 19 community transmission could be over 100.

They do it because they don't want the absolute correct criticism of their foreign travel policies being made an issue,
I've told you literally exactly the way it works, Prof. Nolan has confirmed that at briefings. The vast majority are linked to outbreaks.

Nah I just stopped doing it because all you get is abuse. It's all available on gov.ie/publications and the COVID dashboard.

COVID is a heart/blood disease more than a respiratory disease. Of course it affects the heart

They are probably feeling allergic to their children now at this stage, especially 6 months at home. Send the kids back to school and experience some exposures and get the granny and the granddads in every weekend. It's hard work parking SUVs as close as possible to schools in the
'f uck you I'll park anywhere I want spot'.

I never said it can’t affect the heart. My point is i’d be more concerend about your cholesterol level affecting your heart longterm than going into hysterics about covid destroying my heart. The former is far more likely to happen.
