What's up in Donegal? Seems very high, doesn't it?

More private testing thrown in there, me thinks

Yeah something is up, for sure the past 3-4 days we've seem 40-50 extra cases a day over the official testing numbers. There must have been large outbreaks the public aren't been made aware of.

Nope, just means they haven't been investigated by the time the press release was released

as has been stated by Dr Glynn multiple times during the week just gone there will be no indication as to how current restrictions are going until next week. We've got had a full incubation period of them.

Nobody cares about the new restrictions and we've 1 million kids back in school. Numbers are going to increase, increase rapidly would be my educated guess.

Last 4 Saturdays had 156,174, 200 and today 142 in case numbers.

Good to have a full week without a reported death that hasn't happened since the first reported death on March 11th?

What’s your alternative? Kids stay at home and lockdown?

A radio ad said GP consultation and test is free, is there also private testing too?

Half the kids go back now, then half go back next month if it's safe

Right so you don't 'trust the experts' either. Cool

The 'experts' said it was a risk. The experts said to reduce your indoor contacts to 6 people from 3 households.

And is that not what people are doing? I know of house parties that were meant to go ahead for birthdays this week being cancelled because of the new rules.

    Outlier

I mostly meant that a school is an indoor setting so the experts contradicted their own advice

RTE covering now that there may be school bus shortages to comply with social distancing.

Why is social distancing a requirement on buses but not on planes?

Except you don't know that there is a direct chain of causation between some piece of expert advice and a rise or fall in cases.

People are wearing masks en masse since beginning a few weeks ago. Should that not lead to lower transmission rates? Or perhaps it has and the rates would be even higher without the masks? You don't know obviously.

It would appear the scare mongering of lockdown strategy by Donnelly isn’t gona work.

Like a previous poster said schools are opened now so we will be hitting 250 cases a day soon.

 No they didn't. They were quite clear that we needed close to 80% of us to reduce contacts so the remaining 20% could have a higher rate of contacts, thus reducing the overall contacts within the population.
