    Hi Folks,

Does anyone know when the LS are going to open the application process for the October sitting? Apologies if this has been discussed in a former thread.

    Thanks :)

I am not sure anyone knows, some people saying they are waiting until after the results of August sitting but can never be sure. They are tentatively scheduled from oct 6 until 16th. Someone put up a schedule on the FE1 page on Facebook which was missing two exams, that person said they were given it by the law society but it was subject to change.

Thanks for that Awsah, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious!

Hi, Sorry if this has been asked but does anyone have an up to date company exam grid? including March 2020.

I have two conflicting grids for company and I'm unsure which, if either, is correct.

    Hi,
Does anybody have a copy of the March 2020 Property, Contract and Equity papers? Would really appreciate.
In return I can provide the August 2020 Tort and EU papers.

    thanks

Looking for notes on company as don't have enough time to read manuals and write my own notes if anyone would be willing to swap for Criminal Contract Property EU or Tort?

Could anyone who sat EU online this morning please give some insight as to how the process went? Sitting Tort in the morning and v apprehensive about the whole thing. They talk about scanning the room with your webcam but I'm using my desktop so wont be able to move it very far etc. Any info would be great!

It's a little bit amateurish that there isn't a redirect from beta.courts.ie to courts.ie so.

Adverts.ie or gumtree? I bought mine on book depository for like 60/70, I saw a few people selling second hand for 80, hopefully I will be able to sell mine on after!

Has anyone else not received copies of scripts ? I requested scripts in May and still haven’t received them. Rang the LS today and put through to an extension and got a voicemail.

    Hi there!

I'm just out of EU and can honestly say it was fine.
It was just myself and the invigilator so she actually watched me the whole time but I had it minimised so I couldn't see her.
Tomorrow, I believe there will be more people sitting it so I think the invigilator will be moving between a few students, but I think you'd still be quite aware that there's eyes on you at all times.

It went really smoothly, I didn't get my paper until exactly 10 but I think that was an issue with my moodle access.
I was supposed to get it at 9.50 but nobody was allowed write until 10 anyway so I didn't mind too much.

As for scanning, I also have a laptop and basically just stood up with it in my hands and showed around my room- mainly interested in my desk. She also made me show each page of my answer book to the camera to show there was nothing written, and same with my legislation (not applicable tomorrow), and of course my ID.

She said they may request you to show your desk at any time throughout, and obviously they'd be watching you if you were looking at different things on your computer.

In all honesty, I completely forgot she was there and the writing aspect was the same as being in an exam hall- minus feeling everyone else's nerves as well as my own.

I wouldn't be apprehensive about it, honestly it's the best we could have hoped for.
The only slight pain was scanning in the pages at the end with your phone- they watch you do it and I was very aware of how long it was taking me- it seemed to go on forever!

Overall they put my mind at ease today- nothing at all to worry about!
If you've any questions, feel free to DM me.

Would anybody have sample answers or even just the papers of contract for March 2020 and October 2019? :)

Been studying since 7am and boy am I burnt out. I feel like Property, as predicable a paper it is, is wrecking my head. I just can't seem to really wrap my head around some of the topics, or at quickly as I did with Tort. Maybe it's because I actually studied Tort 5 years ago.

Like I know this is stupid, but I have to say it. Why is adverse possession even a thing? It seems awfully unfair to buy land and have some random fella come into your land or piece of land and occupy it and claim its theirs just because you didn't "exercise control over the land for 12 years". Yes it can be stopped by you asking them to leave and "visit the land often" but its not like this squatter has any right to come in on your land you paid good money for. Had to say it i know i'm wrong bit studying that topic the past 2 days I've just looked at it and gone "god you're an awful stupid rule"

Could anyone tell me what topics came up on the March 2020 company and criminal law papers, just looking to update my exam grid but if anyone has a copy they could send on I would appreciate it! :)

I think one of the arguments is based on land being a finite resource and very high value on that basis, AP encourages landowners to put it to good use or risk losing it. Shaky enough I know but that’s one I’m aware of, think it’s mentioned in JA Pye? A while since I sat property so unsure

Think of it this way - w/o Adverse Possession there would be a lot of property with no identifiable owner. There's A LOT of property where it isn't actually clear who owns it. AP just removes silly fights over small amounts of land and also clears up situations where the land was transferred incorrectly or not even at all.

Most AP applications in reality are actually small sections of land in gardens or adjoining fields where the border lines have changed slightly from the Land Reg records. Often the family didn't properly go though the means of transmitting the property down the family line for over 100 years and the last person still there just puts in an AP case. It just isn't exciting enough compared to JA Pye v Graham / Cullen v Cullen shenanigans. :pac:

Woah..you’re expecting too much from the Courts Service there!

It’s taken a pandemic for them to modernise in the slightest, and they still don’t even answer their phones!

Hi all- I know I'm talking to a small group of people here but I'm just wondering if people's approach to tomorrow is to cover everything again, or if you're not concentrating on things that came up a few weeks ago (Passing off or Res Ispa Loquitur for example)?
